I disagree. Most of the older generation of adults today appreciated, revered & grew up listening to all types of R&B/Hip Hop/Soul/Disco/Pop music from an earlier period partly because we were exposed to it unlike kids/young adults now who have no real history of good/great singers & groups from the past .

Also we wouldn't have outright blatantly disrespected a famous, well known singer that came to our school to perform for us even if we didn't like their music or them personally as an entertainer.
Right!
I was knowledgeable about all types of music from different genres and eras growing up because of my parents and other family members. It's frustrating now because this generation. I don't think that they "want" to know anything other that what they already do. My 16 yo cousins can't even name a Whitney Houston song. :mindblown:
Someone earlier said something about this is the equivalent of Chaka Khan coming to there school and singing or something like that
If Chaka Khan would have come to my school we would have shut up and listened to her sing and sang along. That's the difference

Eh....I dunno how old you are but honestly we would have. I went to school with knuckleheads. Food fights would put people in the hospital.

So I can't be too mad at kids being dumb....or at the very least, indifferent.

High school, Chuck E. Cheese.....same thing. I wouldnt go to either place unless my own kids needed me there. After seeing all the disrespect for years I knew once I got out I would never come back for no career day, giving a speech to young nikkas, a sub...no way :camby:
