I know I'm in the minority but I really liked Next To You and I wouldn't even be mad if the entire album was mobb deep flips :mjlol:
I guarantee it’ll be better received with time once people hear the whole album. It was just a letdown for the lead single, but when everyone has 19 other new tracks they’ll enjoy it

I’m going to the show tonight. Heard it’s dope

Album is absolute fire. You’re going to really enjoy it. I was at the show in Toronto last week

They lock your phone up in a Yondr pouch when you enter but you get to keep it on you. No filming/pictures for this but it really adds to the experience not seeing hundreds of phones out

What can you tell us?

Well Al did a short set of a few classics he produced for about 8-10 minutes and then performed Hold You Down. Erykah did On and On but beyond that, they stuck to strictly
performing the album, which I expected

As for the album my favorite that I remember was a joint called Witch Craft and another I think called Cannaboids? I can’t remember the name of all the joints, I was so locked in enjoying the show. But they do have a screen with the image of the title track they performing which was nice.

The production on the album sounded clean as fukk, they had a backing band doing the joints too. Erykah’s vocals were :banderas: I’ve never seen her live so I was in awe the whole time but I loved her since a shorty since damn near 98.

The Next To You single was cool but really not a highlight of the album. I think it’ll fit the sequencing of the album when it all flows together

Fire ass show. Hard album. Really psychedelic. It was like being in a time warp with no phones anywhere

Yeah it almost sounded like Next To You was just a bonus track. Did a lot of the songs on your show have Westside Gunn and Benny adlibs on them? Ours did.

The people worrying about drums and percussion shouldn’t worry. There’s really cool drums on like every song except maybe one.

Have you ever seen those trippy ass Meowwolf exhibits/galleries? The album sounds like one of those in audio form. It’s funky and spacey.

I didn’t actually notice the Benny and Westside ad-libs on the records. When I give it the whip test when it drops I’ll listen closely

Glad you enjoyed it though bruh, it really was a beautiful experience

Damn it’s hard to say right now cause I need to give an album 10-15 spins before I can really give it a proper rating. Off first listen though, it is very “hip-hop” inspired in terms of production but like @TheDarceKnight mentioned, it’s more of a trippy more spaced out sound.

You gonna have to let this one rock a few times to really appreciate I think. The lyrics and production are both layered but it’s hard to grasp the full concept/themes of the album off the live show.
