Sounds like everyone who has delayed their album had one excuse or another. Why Badu and ALC are especially egregious isn't adding up to me. Whatever the reason it's their reason. They don't owe you jack. Calling people lazy or unprofessional is just corny because I know if these same guys met them theu would be on some, " You're awesome! I love everything yoi guys do!". Don't act brand new on the internet.
Because they announced a release date, hit the interview circuit, released a single and video, and went on a mini tour promoting the project.

Then the day of the release, Badu says it's not coming out that day and Alchemist posts this

We've gotten zero updates since then.

It's clear why this is different than other examples, including a few you posted, when an artist says prior to the release date, "Hey, here's what happened, we're pushing the release date to X"

Of course they don't owe us shyt. But if you tell people you're releasing something, delay it, how can you get upset if people ask for an update?

I got no problem requesting an update, it's the name calling and character disparaging that's unnecessary.

This here. HAHA!

And I love her work with The Fugees. She was mad dope at rapping next to two very wack rappers. They did a lot of classic sh*t. But her legacy is one of those ridiculously hyped ones that I still look at funny. You add that to the fact that she's wild unprofessional and a trash ass person, and I'm good on her never releasing music again. That ship sailed forever ago.

She also benefits from clear editorial edicts demanding her album be on every "Best Rap Albums" list for obvious reasons. It is what it is. At least it was a dope album that had a lot of success because in an alternate reality they'd be pushing a Meg or Nicki album into the top 10.

Back to Badu...yes noteworthy albums get delayed all the time. But I vividly remember Kanye discussing his delays in real time whereas we have zero info on this album right now. Which is why I think there was some type of misunderstanding or falling out between Badu and Al. Or she woke up one day and said nahhhh lol. Or she decided she wanted to sell the album to a label and Alc said no.

Yeah, it could be 100 different things. No reason to speculate. When it drops be happy and I'm sure the reasons for the delay will eventually be revealed.

I think it's totally fair game to clown Mos Def for being unreliable

He gave us BOBS, an undisputed classic and played an integral role in hip-hop when it was commercializing. I'm grateful for that and he doesn't owe us shyt

That said, outside of that, the dude has like zero consistency or track record when it comes to music. There's a much greater chance of a project not being released than actually coming out

This here.

I chop it up with @I love Latina women about Mos all the time. We always end up saying the same sh*t, lol. And like you said, after dropping BOBS, the expectations were crazy. So if you have that and mad broken promises, repeated unprofessional behavior, not showing up for fans, etc., you're definitely being clowned forever for that. That becomes a part of your legacy too.

Whether they owe us albums or not, none of these weirdos are above reproach.

Facts

All you gotta do is look at how they move

Look at Mos.

He’s horrible with relaying the message about his music and the release of it.

I really do wonder how he supports himself outside of doing shows here and there. I’m not big on pocket watching but for a nikka with only 1 gold album and just a string of movies that I’m sure he gets no residuals from, how does he eat? lol

Truth.

What you said about how he eats is a question I hear people asking a lot. LOL!! Especially with all the kids dude has. I would think he'd be working all the damn time to get bread. Dude is a magician. Who knows how he's surviving.

We know for sure it ain't from music.

Right?! :pachaha:

Like it ain’t like dude was ever a movie star; even movie stars gotta keep the bread flowing with movies to eat. Very few are that well off that they can say “I ain’t gotta shyt if I don’t want too” and those are the extremely lucky and old ones lol

How he maintains being able to eat and provide for his fam off just random shows, I really do wonder.

Bruh ain’t been in movie since like 2013 and then last few movies were more so on the independent side of things.

Thing is, Mos was/is a good actor.

But I think with all the legal and citizenship issues over the years, he probably wasn't able to get work here. He literally was told he can't come back to the country he's from. So I can imagine that that probably f*cked up his pockets.

Just seems like he did it to himself.

Oh he’s a a phenomenal actor

He’s so good at actor, back in the day, I thought he would go back to that strictly like he had initially started with in the first place

Yeah.

I wonder why he hasn’t been in any movies or shows overseas? I’d find it real hard to believe he didn’t need the money and I’d be shocked if he really hadn’t been trying to be in any movies or shows at all.

Cause again, I just don’t get how he’s making money.

He can’t be making that much cake off of just shows.

@Awesome Wells

I can’t even say he’s Lisa Bonet’s male counterpart because Lisa had Lenny and then Jason to live off of. lol

Lisa's definitely chillin'.

I don’t know if I've seen her in anything decent since Enemy of the State, with Will Smith, back in the 90's. I'm sure she's done other stuff, but I just haven't seen any of it, lol.

Hell yeah lol

Last thing I seen her in was that Showtime show Ray Donovan but that was like a decade ago
