You can tell who didn't click on the link and read the criteria for the list. It combines "endorsements with social media following and internet search popularity."

That's why LeBron and Phil Mickelson are up there because of their endorsement deals. Unfortunately Serena's always been underpaid endorsement wise.

It isn't a pure list based on popularity, it's about how much money their name generates and how much their name rings on social media.

Yep. Women are under-represented. Serena and Sharapova should be top ten.

This isn't true

I just asked my nephew the other day who watches zero basketball and plays video games all day who Durant was. He didnt even know. I asked him if he knew who Curry was and he was like "yea that light skinned dude":umad:..... "steph curry with the shot". :pachaha:

Durant is probably bigger with basketball fans and kids. But Curry is more well known across the board by non fans and just in pop culture.

Uncultured Americans exposing themselves left n right in here. There's probably 20 footballers alone more known globally than Durant

The Passage of Time
I swear some of you are adverse to information and only do surface cleaning with your comments. Your first question should be how did they arrive at those rankings?
Did they do a "Q" rating? Did they check their social media footprint? The ratings and attendance to their games? Find out the metrics they used to arrive at the #'s they gave, instead of your bubble of it's ESPN.
