Thats not fair

for one, the NFL plays far fewer games and has 53 people on the roster to feed

2nd

the NFL owners could lock out the players and not really be hurt. There is no alternative. The NBA tries to pull this shyt, the players will stay in Europe until they get what they want. The NFLPA has ZERO leverage over the owners when it comes down to it

:russell:

Nfl makes way more money than any other league. Their players should be compensated as such. Especially considering the risks they are taking.

I will always side with players over owners on any topic.

you completely missed my point breh on WHY it wont happen. They have NO leverage over the owners. These NFL owners were/are billionairs that dont depend on football. They can wait out the NFLPA with a lockout and not be hurt by it

NBA and MLB constantly have work stoppages. They suffer through it to better themselves and their future.

Nfl players can't or won't fight for their rights. I get what you're saying but you have to Crack eggs to make omelettes.

Sacrifices.

This is actually completely false, the NBA and MLB as respective leagues began collective bargaining in the 1940-50s and the NFL didn't really began bargaining (mainly pensions) till late 1960's- early 1970's. NFL players are really just playing into the stereotype of dumb jock, they don't put enough pressure on there union to advocate for them. A good book on the subject is Labor Relations in Professional Sports by Robert C Berry. It really just shows how behind the NFLPA is compared to other sports leagues unions.

There still should be a higher minimum wage in the NFL at least. They have the worst player union out of all the sports. I guess they don't have much bargaining power cause there's only one NFL and you got thousands of players fighting for only a few roster spots. Outside most of the skill positions alot of these guys are replaceable.

The NFL has over double the revenue per year that the NBA makes. 10 Billion to 4 Billion.

The highest generating NFL team makes double of what the highest generating NBA team makes.

There's no excuse for them getting paid the way they do AND not having guaranteed contracts. It'd be one thing to have ridiculous contracts that are not guaranteed. One would argue it would make sense. But to have the contracts that these guys get, AND they aren't guaranteed? :laff:

Football players need to take that stand. For the future of the sport. Sit out a season. Hit them where it hurts, and it'll hurt them too, but it'd be the best thing for the future of the sport.
Compare how much per game played derozan makes compared to eli manning....

Do that with the top 5 contract for both leagues and then holla at me.

Goatganda the pearl of Africa
NFL lawst

Rookies go from 50 million dollar contracts to making like 3 mill a year if drafted in the top ten to even under a mill a year

Have the highest revenue highest tv deals, richest owners, richest team values, riskiest sport to play.
But fer paid less on average than nhl players

Totally agree with the bolded,
2015 Revenue by sports league has the top 3 leagues as:
NFL- $13 Billion
MLB- $9.5 Billion
NBA- $5.2 Billion

Its crazy to think for a 16 game season that the NFL is making twice the NBA(82 games) and almost one-third MLB(168 games) more than their leagues.
