Small market is not based on the city breh, it's based on the total number of households and how much revenue that area has to compete with other places.
Atl might not seem like a small market to you, but guarantee they're never competing dollar for dollar with any real big markets in any sport.

you're literally making shyt up, there are over 100 designated media markets, suffice to say if you're a top 10 market, you're a big market and every market the NBA operates in is top 30 with the exception of NO, Memphis, OKC, and Milwaukee. and sheer numbers aren't the only thing that drives ad dollars, companies gonna spend more to market in the Bay Area for the high income earning residents than Philly despite being slightly smaller. and a place like Seattle can definitely compete with a Philly if we're talking income of the area

You're 100% correct. The regular season is just veryyy long and if you're team is in a 10-15 year drought (speaking as someone who wasted 2005-2012 watching 40-80 padres game a year) at some point it becomes a literal waste of time

I'm scorn and have a lot more going on in life (was a jit in 05-12, now I got responsibilities/goals, etc, so I still don't care to watch the regular season. Watched a couple 8 and 1/3 no hitters only for them to be lost in the 9th, combined and dolo. Then these mufukkas wanna throw their first this year. I'm off them despite them being nice now I'm the same way with women/people. If I feel I invested too much time in/with you only for you to not be that good/somewhat meet expectations/make it worth it, I'm bushing you forever more or less.

More power to em, but baseball is too slow of a game, too long of a game for me to recommit at this juncture in life.
