Berto sucks and all the scrubs Mayweather fought earlier had the benefit of being around when the pickings were slim because less quality fighters were around. GGG, Thurman, Garcia, Peterson, Khan (who is overrated but has flashes of talent) are just some of the names of guys who would be a much more interesting fight than this. I understand he is hooking Berto up but I'm not paying to see that.

I also don't think anyone really believes Mayweather is going to retire tying the record when it takes 1 more to claim it.
GGG is way out of his weight class. People want Floyd to lose so bad they want him to face fighters with a huge weight advantage.

This is not true. When I'm at work the commercial for this fight comes up every time I look at the television (sports bar).

And there have been All Access with Mayweather/Berto, this fight isn't on HBO breh, that's why there's no HBO Inside.

And there were never any spots on news stations about boxing fights (even Mayweather) outside of the Pac fight... that's why I said it only seems like no promotion because y'all are looking at it from that lens. There's just as much promotion as there was with Guerrero and Ortiz, it's just that there's no more looming Pac fight to amp things up even more; even back then that's all reporters were asking Mayweather about anyway.

you seen commercials for it:ohhh:

i legit havent seen any

i didnt even know the fight was this weekend until i saw this thread

He's already beat the 2nd best fighter of the era. Whoever he fights now wouldn't even be a top 10-15 name on his resume. Let the man go out as he pleases :mjpls:

This is the result of bad business from the beginning(Boxing execs)...the first fight was OVER marketed so badly that it basically cornered Floyd into this BEING his last fight...YOU COULDNT POSSIBLY MARKET ANOTHER MARKETABLE FIGHT FOR FLOYD AFTER THEY GASSED THE WORLD UP FOR THAT LAST DUD...Floyd needs to go ahead and hang em' up:mjcry:

man you sound like a fukking moron

This is the "wise" response from a master teacher huh?:pachaha:

So I take it to you the last fight wasn't OVER marketed...yea ok:beli:

lmao at over marketed, what does that even mean

people been waiting on the fight for 5 years THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO PROMOTE IT

The fight generated damn near a gross of a billion dollars lmao, Floyd could fight a crash text dummy and make 20 million

he gonna make 40-50 million fighting Berto lmao

sit down somewhere, I don't know why people who don't follow boxing like to chime in on t

Breh...ESPN, HBO, and all the other channels that hype fights dedicated way too much time on promo for an event that everyone was going to watch anyway.

If they had of left it at the HBO special as usual and did normal promo the fight STILL would have done what it did (like u said everybody was waiting) but without all the EXPECTATIONS...once you bill a fight as the fukkin "FIGHT OF THE CENTURY" you better be sure that is what's going to happen. Boxing execs got caught up in the fickleness of the general public and kept gassin it to oblivion (imo) and when real boxing started half the audience forgot what they were in store for (real boxing) and demaned a Rocky Balboa fight.

Those same guys who got the wife to "buy in" and go half on the fight are like fagetaboutit now

They should of let the fight grow as naturally as possible that way they wouldn't look like pariahs in the end

The fight had a five year build up, ESPN are dikk riders trying to get ratings, you are not a boxing fan which is why you think ESPN had something to do with the fight being big
