Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
We had a similar thread on here about this. I've gone to a couple Knicks game by myself, had a good time. One time I was traveling to NC for job interviews before I wound up moving to Raleigh. I was in Charlotte, Bron was in his rookie year, so I caught a game at the old Hive. My wife is the type that always wants to have someone with her to go out, so she was feeling type sorry for me when I told her what I had done. Like a poster a few posts back, I grew up basically an only child, so I've always been comfortable rolling dolo. I would go to the movies by myself, sit down and eat by myself, I even rolled for self up in some jazz clubs back in NY.

A few people brought it up already but if you get a job that requires travel, that’s the perfect opportunity to go alone to these events. I saw the Kobe Lakers a bunch of times at Staples because I was there on business travel. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars in Tokyo at a high end Japanese steakhouse by myself because the company was paying for it.

I was thinking about it this past weekend Ihad a coworker selling 2 tickets to the falcons panthers game. Said I could have bought one but I felt some type of way. I think it was the 2 hr drive alone more than being at the game alone.

Yeah, I go to Hornets games alone if I'm bored. I'll find some cheap tickets on SeatGeek right before game time when the prices start to drop.

I don't mind doing things alone; me and my homegirl the other day were talking about the movies, she loves going to see it on opening night and also hear the crowd's reaction. She thought it was weird that I like going weeks after the movie came out hoping the theater is empty, makes it feel like I have my own private viewing.

I've always been a loner :yeshrug:
Yeah them Hornets tickets go cheap as fukk on game day. I hit about 5-10 games a year. Used to buy them early on ticketmaster but now just learned to wait until the day of the game and hit up seat geek or stubhub. Great seats for way cheaper.

I used to travel a lot for work so I'd hit games up all the time alone. I think I've been to 7 NBA arenas so far. I have no problem going alone. Half the time end up starting up convo with people sitting around me I get really pissed off going with others because I like to get there early and watch them warming up. The times I've taken a female I had a few that was stuck to their phone and wanting to take selfies every 30 seconds. Only had one that didn't know the game that well but was asking good questions and generally taking an interest in the game.

Plus I like getting great tickets and when trying to coordinate with others you have to compromise to how much they're willing to pay which is a pain in the ass.

The only place ur not suppose to go to by yourself is the theaters or a club lol

Why would it be cool to go by yourself to a sports event but not the movies? Even when with someone, I don't talk during the movie, so I can enjoy it just as much dolo.

To answer the thread, I semi went to a Rockets-GSW game by myself once. Was in Houston for some other shyt with a few of my boys. Months prior, one of my boys mentioned there'd be that game on the Friday we'd be there. I said I was down, and we didn't speak on it after that. Fast forwards to a few days before the trip, I ask him if he was still wit it, and he tells me he already bought his ticket, smh. So I went on one of those sites and copped a seat in the section next to his (no seats available in his section), so I was essentially at the game dolo. A group of teenage white chicks on one side with their pops supervising, and another mini group on the other side. I hated it. Games are meant to be enjoyed socially imo, so Harden or Durant would make a great play and I didn't have anyone to react with. I didn't have anyone to assess the game with. Rockets ended up getting blowed out, so I went to my boys section halfway through the fourth. Kinda glad I had this experience, cuz it solidified my belief that I wouldn't enjoy going to a game by myself. Especially when threads like these come up and nikkas try to sell the notion of this being a great time or the best way to enjoy live sports.

I've done that too.

Club by yourself is cool because you're forced to try to meet new women and new people in general. When I go to the club with friends I tend to stick with them, when I go to the club by myself, I'm shooting my shot at any attractive young lady who catches my eye.

Movies by yourself isn't bad either.

Just gotta be secure with yourself.

Yea I think people who perceive something wrong with this are looking at this backwards.

You’re not being anti social by going to an event alone, because there are (by definition) going to be people there to socialize with.

Plus if you’re a die hard fan it’s good to show up and help your team’s home court advantage really be an advantage rather than just a familiar building :manny:
