Not gonna lie, I think the 20s in the US and/or the 60/70s in US/Europe must've been cool...60s in certain African countries too (after the independences)...not saying it was all gravy but I feel there was more political changes, social movements...which led to bad stuff (revolts and racism etc) but also to good stuff (creativity in arts, new political theories)...it just seems people gave way more fukks before than today, and there was actually new (good or bad) political ideas being debated (remember, communism was a real alternative then...panafricanism...the non-aligned movement...), while now it's like we're all more or less content with how shyt is and just hoping for marginal adjustments.

From what my pops tells me Africa right after the independences was :myman:...so much hope, energy, ideas...

Nah, I wouldn't trade the era I grew up in. I'm an 80s baby, that survived the crack era/ saw so many young black dudes become thousandaires. It was an amazing thing to witness:ahh:

I feel that way a lot, I feel the 60s/70s would've been my time. Check out the movie Midnight in Paris, it deals with this subject.

It was confirmed when my dad just out and said "You know, you should've been born in the 70s"

I have had feelings about being born in the era of slavery, maybe not as a slave but maybe a witness to slavery.

wish I was born 10 years earlier, would have loved to watch a young MJ, and been in middle school through the early 90's era in hip-hop.

Yeah, I'm an early '80s baby, so I was too young to really take part in all the '90s, which will go down in history as the last time America was *king*.

I just can't relate to the Facebook, Twitter, celebrity culture, and lame ass androgynous culture.

I needed to be 21/22 in 1994 brehs.

I feel like I was born in the wrong time period. I always have felt like I belong somewhere in the distant future.
