Is it possible to go in and out of lucid dreaming? Or does it have to be one or another? I definitely recall being aware that I’m dreaming, but shyts not always positive. Something random will happen, things go completely left and it doesn’t feel like I’m in control of what’s happening. I usually end up waking up shortly after because the dream went to shyt from where things were initially going.
Yes. Especially when you are new to it, you can lose lucidity. Also, remember the other aspect of being able to control what is happening, and that is willpower. If you are mentally fatigued, scared, unable to focus well enough, then you can lose control.

So you can be lucid, and realize you are no longer able to control what is happening. When I was young, that loss of control would bother me and I would wake myself up. Now, if I find myself unable to accomplish something I wanted to do, I just accept it and keep going.

One ability you should always have though, is the ability to wake up. Just the fact that you are lucid, gives you that one skill you always can use conciously.

I started Lucid dreaming at 6 years of age. My first go to move as a child was to fly. Now, I am always lucid, I just go with the flow of the dream so that I get a restful night. I only take control if the dream seems to be going of the rails, and I don't want to wake up yet.
Interesting, i always feel like i got good rest even when i go crazy :ehh: i do alot of art stuff so it's a great source of ideas

I only fly if the dream starts off in an uncomfortable place, like one time i left an underground science lab and it was deep at the bottom of a lake

Situations like that my brain almost always makes some crazy sea creature with eyes the size of a 2 story house :whoa: i fly out that hoe immediately before it turns into a nightmare.

A coli dream journal thread would have some classic rafters material stories :whew: i have between 3-6 different sequences on a good night

This is the key to it all :banderas: if you questioning how you're doing stuff it's gonna fail, you gotta move as if the shyt you're doing is just a fact of life, once i figured this out i almost never have nightmares anymore, i can always just blow that shyt up and change my environment

I wish that was the case for me. Taking full control leaves me feeling like I got no sleep that night mentally.

When I did take control more, I would seek to understand the reality completely and my own psyche. I would go deep seeking answers to all sorts of questions, reading within my dream, and even performing mathmatics. So, for me it was like my mind was not getting time to rest.

Similar, it just doesn't leave me mentally exhausted once i wake up :manny:but i also can meditate for an hour or so and feel refreshed like i got sleep

i feel you though it doesn't "feel" like i rested because i was conscious the entire time, i just wake up and my body has energy again

Doesn't feel like my eyeballs had a chance to take a break, weird sensation to explain

Well, you are in constant REM sleep. That is Rapid Eye Movement.

Yes but rem happens every night, i dont feel like that every day, only after nights i had a full on 20-30 minute long(in dream time) lucid sequence :jbhmm:

Im not a scientist but im assuming it's because im already in REM but also using my "eyes" in the dream, probably an absurd amount of extra eye movements occurring

I assumed you were in REM longer than what a normal person would be in over the same time period, like I am. If not, then I have no clue what to tell you. :yeshrug:

The scholars of the world, the learned - exert their greatest efforts to explore and discover new worlds.

But the vivid dreams we have, are worlds in their own right.

I have a recurring one where I'm on the run for something, get caught, and escape. They always pick up from the point the last one left off. I'm typically a lucid dreamer but I never catch on to those dreams while they're happening. They feel real everytime.

Yea, I'm never in prison though
The dreams are always about something dumb happening, like me being drunk and hitting somebody, then the feeling of regret and failure in the early stages of the incarceration where you're in jail getting processed before being sent to prison. So the dreams are always about the mistake and the subsequent realization I'm about to spend mad years in prison more so then the actual act of being in prison
Waking up and realizing you didn't just ruin your life :blessed:
