Yes. Especially when you are new to it, you can lose lucidity. Also, remember the other aspect of being able to control what is happening, and that is willpower. If you are mentally fatigued, scared, unable to focus well enough, then you can lose control. Is it possible to go in and out of lucid dreaming? Or does it have to be one or another? I definitely recall being aware that I’m dreaming, but shyts not always positive. Something random will happen, things go completely left and it doesn’t feel like I’m in control of what’s happening. I usually end up waking up shortly after because the dream went to shyt from where things were initially going.
So you can be lucid, and realize you are no longer able to control what is happening. When I was young, that loss of control would bother me and I would wake myself up. Now, if I find myself unable to accomplish something I wanted to do, I just accept it and keep going.
One ability you should always have though, is the ability to wake up. Just the fact that you are lucid, gives you that one skill you always can use conciously.
i do alot of art stuff so it's a great source of ideas
i fly out that hoe immediately before it turns into a nightmare.
i have between 3-6 different sequences on a good night
if you questioning how you're doing stuff it's gonna fail, you gotta move as if the shyt you're doing is just a fact of life, once i figured this out i almost never have nightmares anymore, i can always just blow that shyt up and change my environment
but i also can meditate for an hour or so and feel refreshed like i got sleep
