Technically don't most African Americans have white names?
It depends on what you consider a White name. Some so-called White names are not even from White countries. Not only that, but some names have been anglicized so some people have lost track of what the name originally was to begin with. Case in point was when the Fulani or Mandingos were captured in warfare in Africa and sold into slavery in the USA; their names were anglicized.
The Mandingos were very good at anglicizing the names of their children:
Suliman, became Soloman;
Musa, became Moses;
Fili, became Phyllis;
There are a bunch of other names like Jemmy, Jack and others that were the anglicized version of Mandingo and West African names; but they have been lost to time.
