I check white. I have a Spanish first name and Italian last name so it can really fool them. I get way more interviews and calls than when I checked "African American" sadly. Been doing this for a few years.

Even though I'm mixed I used to just put black. Then I tried to re-get my old job at Macy's years ago (2006). I sent in the same application twice with different race options checked on each one: the first one I put black and I got turned down, the second one I put white and told them it was a mistake and got the job in 2 days -- despite being in the system already smh. A few months later she found out I was mixed and I lost my job to Mexicans.
I filed with the EEOC and let them know everything and they cleaned house totally :troll:. I was the only one they paid for the lost wages :wow:.....no shame at all :blessed:. One of the managers was named Andre; he had mixed kids and a white wife; he was mad as hell that my mom wasn't white and would give me the stone face :scust::scusthov::birdman:because she's brown skinned lol. The other store manager went back to Venezuela :dead:. Our town is weird. :rudy:

I've gone through periods of unemployment where I would rotate. Sometimes I'd put my race, other times I'd put "Decline to Answer". I didn't have a hard rule, but in general, a city/metropolitan job I'd put my race and rural/suburban areas I'd decline....:manny:

I'd rotate my resume and shyt as well.

Good luck in y'alls job search. shyt is a pain in the ass.
