Lowkey Pac wrote for and gave the idea for a double album to Bob Dylan in 1966 for Blonde on Blonde, also for The Beatles' White Album in 1968.

Benny Goodman schooled them all though with the first double LP in 1950.

I wouldn't have trolled if the OP didn't write that rappers failed in "biting" Pac's idea. Can't bite something from someone when it existed almost 50 years before they did it.

On topic though, I take Life After Death over All Eyez on Me, strictly opinion though I won't argue with anyone who prefers AEOM.

Someone tell OP that the double album idea existed way before Pac. In other words it wasnt "his idea."

Also...OP should have put "IMO" in the beginning of the title.
Someone mentioned Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, Too Short put out a double disc for his greatest hits as well but Pac clearly started the trend by putting out the successful AEOM. So I would say that they were biting him. They weren't following the lead of Too Short, Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince or anyone else mentioned and it certainly wasn't a coincidence either. He popularized the idea.

You're entitled to your opinion, I remember buying R U Still Down and absolutely loving it, but personally I don't think it's even in the same class as LAD.

double albums in general to me just aren't good ideas. every double album instantly gets better when it gets stripped down to one. I know I'm in a very small minority but the best one so far to me was pwowr. but most will either pick aeom, lad or the wu joint.
