If you are just an observer, who/what is the thinker and who/what are you? :lupe:

Also, I feel thinking about not thinking (or just observing "non thinking") will make me think more. Tips?

:feedme:
yea dont think about not thinking

focus on breathing from your diaphragm and focus on your breathing

once you realize you're mind is wandering then force yourself to go back

you are an observer and all the thoughts in your mind should be treated as pieces of information, they shouldnt be seen as something you're thinking of

you are an observer to all your thoughts emotions and feelings and you decide what the course of action is after taking into account all the information that your brain gives you (emotions, worries, memories etc.)

Thanks. So it's the brain that creates the thoughts? Then who are we/"I"? Consciousness? Does not the brain create that? :lupe:

I feel we're gonna get stuck in a wormhole here

There's a poster here (can't remember fams name) but he talked about this & that astral projection & how demonic it is. He basically said when you're doing that you're allowing outside forces or demonic spirits to either influence or control you.

:ehh: how do I start
My mind is so busy and cluttered I struggle with meditation

Here you go. A short 10 min meditation on quieting the mind. Tara has a lot of free meditations on the website, and if you are in the DMV, a free meditation class almost every Wednesday off of River Road not too far from the DC line. The key is consistency. Try 10 min a day in the morning. It will seem like BS when you start out for the first weeks, if not months, since its hard to know if what you are doing works, but does eventually change your mindset to a less stressful one. Its free and the only commitment is just a small amount of time to try.

Mindfulness meditation is not about repressing thoughts tho. It's about letting them pass without holding on to them or following them down the rabbit hole.

Which is a lot less stressful, then i must not think of this, don't think of this, etc.

It's letting thoughts flow without attachment and eventually because you stopped holding back, it gives the thoughts room to breathe and they're will be less and less urgent/frantic thoughts and worries trynna get your attention. It also like a spring cleaning, less clutter of the mind. You can think clearly.,

The "I" is ego-conciousness. So, you can observe your thoughts, observe what your body is trying to tell you. You can also look up Id, Ego and Superego the holy trinity.

I have notes on this somewhere. It's been a minute.
