I saw it last week. Like others have said, it did a good job of not portraying MLK as soft while still showing contrast between being a strong leader and flawed human. LBJ wasn't the white savior either. He was depicted as a politician. Am I the only one who felt this movie seemed short? Seemed like a lot was left out, which I'm sure it was. Was a good movie with potential to be epic.
Is this movie suitable for a 6 and 8 year old? @KenyaDoll

I'm not interested. White folks love to praise MLK. It's like they have made the whole civil rights movement about him, givin him a holiday and made him the example to us.
Help your people get free, do so peacefuly And still get murdered. Nothing against King, he's deserving but they are using him. We got so much history fighting against evil just to live normally here and they wanna erase all of it with the exception of rosa parks and MLK.

I saw it when it first came out. I like the movie; but I hate that there are always movies of black folks getting the shyt beaten out of them. I did like the part when they showed white people that were killed in the movies because white people think only blacks were getting killed. Also I like how they actually showed real footage from selma during the movie; during my time in the south I was able to cross the bride that my people walked to get
our voting rights.
I also loved how they showed how whites played tricks to stop blacks from recieveing their voting rights. Plus the really showed how LBJ and gay edgar hoover really felt about the blacks of the country we built.

Take them to see it. My father showed me and my sister amistad when I was around that age. I came out ok; it's better for them to find out now; than later on in their 20's. The jews show footage of the holocaust to their little children; why can't we and we been through way more shyt then some jew. The holocaust only lasted 6 years compared to 245 years of black slavery.

I want to know the same thing because I wanted to take the family to see the film tomorrow since we are both off and my daughter is out of school for the holiday. Someone that goes to my wife's church was actually in the movie.
