Draft time/summer league separates the guys who know basketball from those that don't.

If you think Josh Jackson and De'Aaron Fox are gonna be stars, you don't know ANYTHING about basketball. Conversely, if you think Jayson Tatum and Lonzo Ball will be anything but stars, you also don't know ANYTHING about basketball. To me these 4 players are the litmus test for whether you know anything about basketball.

The reaction is justified considering the hype. If he came out this game and put up 25, 10 and 7 you'd be saying its proof of his future HOF career, so dont downplay it after he failed spectacularly.

One game sample and only the Lavar haters are overreacting and celebrating. The same type of people called Jameis Winston a bust after his first NFL game and put Marcus Mariotta in the hall of fame after that same first game. The seasons and careers have played out differently since that day especially with Mariotta being a health issue like Jake Locker was. I think Lonzo will be a great player this regular season. I looked for the game on NBATV like the other summer league games I watched until I realized it was on ESPN. ESPN will trot out all these talking heads saying they hate Lavar and everything he stands for but they made a point to have Lonzo's first game on their network. So they are cool with making money off the family but also criticizing them. Reminds me of them having skip Bayless and a lot of other criticizing the Decision even though it aired on ESPN.
