Was just thinking this. Before him dying I don't think I ever saw a thread about him on here or him even being mentioned.
R.I.P though
there were lots of threads about Prince here. If you missed the one talkin about his tour with Rick James you lost

Me on the other hand im an 80's baby so I came up on some of these icons. I was never a big Prince fan though
:flobbe: nikka, we hate you too.Another thing I fukking HATE is when people make these celebrities deaths about them.
Ol' "it's all about me" ass motherfukkers.
Every time a celebrity dies, it's the same-o:
"Oh my gawd, that's my third cousin Ray Ray's barber's best friend's uncle! I'm in tears right now!"
"Oh my gawd, I almost fainted at work and I can't deal. I'm going to take this week off and might need to see a therapist."
"Oh my gawd, I saw him in concert and I swear he locked eyes with me. That touched my soul and now that's he gone and I'll never be the same."
"Oh my gawd, I had a dream about (insert celebrity) last night and this is what happened (insert four page essay)."
I hate people.
You don't even no anything about Prince either you Fatherless fagot. STFUWhy do people feel the need to pretend like they were big ass fans of someone as soon as they DIE?
My facebook is full of a bunch of muthafukkers with crocodile tears, when i went 365 without someone talking about Prince

This I get...segments of society have given up part of the gift of free thinking to allow for media/pop cultures guidance...thereby distorting real life events like death. So people will jump on things like this like a fad or bandwagon it like the Warriors....but that's scary because this is deathTheres just too many people who act devastated by peoples death for attention when they deep down dont give a fukk. Is what im saying.
. What I have come to understand about many in our society is that negativity/crying/depression is some shyt people get off on and make money from...really demented. They will keep a negative environment going in society nationally just for reason of conversation and profit. Princes ascension should be CELEBRATED, but sadness is popular and profitable....smh. I honestly think this comfort began during and after 9/11...tragedies became sadly "action packed entertainment" for those who were able to survive or weren't affected from it. Horrible. OJ, Princess Diana led the way to the tragedy as entertainment days...so when 9/11 happened subtly they covered it as entertainment around the clock wisely observing the sad elements that existed in it (as not to offend obviously)....after an event so enormous, every other tragedy is and will be covered the same, as entertainment...this is CNN's bread and butter, and some in our society just lap it up. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. all fall under the media umbrella too...though even worse about that is its not some single producer doin it...it's millions of drones the media has created in society(the people themselves) that continue the cycle...and now with Prince.

.Prince wasn't my favorite artist, as I'm mainly a hip hop head. However, I grew up on his stuff in the 80's and he was one of the rare artists to get play on both black and white media outlets (Mike, Janet, & Whitney were the others). Some artists are so major that you don't have to hardcore follow them, for them to have made an impact on you. Prince literally has at least 50-60 singles that got play in the media over years, then another 30-40 that he wrote/produced for others. People know and love a lot those songs regardless of whether they ever bought a Prince album.
I will say this, if you are 30+ but never saw him live, then you know you fu**ed up. That doesn't mean you aren't a true fan, but it just means that you kinda disrespected him and yourself. He did so many shows over the years, and toured throughout the country. He gave almost everybody in the US a chance to see him and remained a great performer for the duration of his career. I regret not going to a show until 2012, but when I did it was one of the best entertainment experiences of my life.

Sometimes you nikkas just lie to lie. There were dozens of Prince threads on here over the years. You just didnt pay them any mind.
