David Goggins is on another level bro.

All that training they do in BUDs is literally meant to break you down and cause you to quit. That pace and level of training is not meant to be regularly done as a routine.

Goggins is such a psycho that he literally pushes himself to breaking point every time he works out, no physical training monitor for a unit even in a seal Team is going to advise you to do with Goggins does.

It’s half the reason why the seal community wasn’t too keen on him when he was active, they felt he was a overzealous workout try hard who was getting by on clout and ducking real life missions.

And don’t get it twisted, he has the injuries and permanent medical conditions as the scars of his training. He just doesn’t care.
I'm aware of who he is and what he does

Imo he never really wanted the military life, they showed him how to push himself and he realized that's all he really wanted out of himself so he just latched onto it.

My point was that the mental breaking the military does is way beyond what athletes do so they always end up clapped whenever they try to get cute and train with these guys for content, it could be Goggins or someone else, the result will be the same more often than not

How you fight matters tho

The UFC will still keep guys in big fights if they have an exciting style

Guys who just try to outpoint their opponents are on a shorter leash, people been complaining about Izzy's style for a while now, if you gonna play that game you gotta be winning/defending championship belts.
It’s all about popularity and if Dana White likes you. Izzy has a huge social media presence, and he’s constantly active. Matter of fact, I can argue Izzy’s loses have been because he’s been fighting more mid range lately. People haven’t been complaining about Izzy style since he fought Jared, which he corrected in the Alex fights……Izzy is in a different category of fighter, in which he’s gonna continue to get the big fights as long as long as he shows his talent is still there.

I mean shyt Ferguson was on PPVs until Dana forced him to quit UFC

Crazy military training >>>> what most athletes consider training

Kobe had to go and get Marines to train him cuz the NBA dudes were too soft, he wanted to train until he blacked out forreal so he knew what his actual limitations were
Yeah, they actually make it an emphasis to push people to dig down deep because you’ll be walking on the line between life and death. The extreme of the extreme think soldiers need to stay intense and focused to the very last breath because that’s what may make the difference between going home or not on the battlefield.

Different training compared to being in “optimal physical shape”.

That's old Kobe lore breh, he went out and got military vets to push him mentally, this is how Mamba mentality was born, that Gil clip is probably the easiest one to find, most other people just mentioned it in passing and I remembered it.

There was another story where Kobe was like he works out until he literally sees black spots on his vision, on the verge of passing out.

He didn't learn that psycho gene practicing with lazy ass NBA guys
He should have done less.

Rest and recovery isn’t weakness. It’s the necessary component for all training.

Mind you this is another way to show how war is not a game.

You’ll be engaged in combat with people like this on a battlefield. Most people have zero idea of what going up against that or keeping up with that is like.

Meanwhile most people can’t even tolerate a cold shower in the morning.

No reason for elite pro athletes to push themselves to that level:mjlol:…It’s a complete hindrance to the goal of self persavation

Shouts out to Kobe godly work ethic but that man wasn’t perfect he didn’t have to do all that and we saw the effects of his body breaking down the last few yrs and his obvious frustration…

You said all of that just to unknowingly confirm what I said

Tony Ferguson gets fights because it's a guaranteed knockout for his opponent, which is what the UFC likes, it's exciting and he keeps agreeing to the punishment

Cowboy was the same way, dudes getting highlight clips against him

Same with Max, regardless of his record you KNOW he's gonna get in there and box.

Izzy was just on a fight night card, there's nothing "big" about that at all for a former champion. The second he started losing forreal he lost a lot of hype for his fights because his style was already low-key boring for a lot of people

We also saw the positive effects from it

5 rings and his name became synonymous with working hard above any other player you can think of

You left those effects out of your observation though :jbhmm: :mjlol: plenty of nikkas still got their bodies wrecked even while being lazy and not accomplishing anything, I'm sure they'd trade their careers for his

Being the headliner of a fight night does not lower your stock as a UFC fighter:snoop:…you got to also remember fight nights also take place in locations UFC normally does not go. That Izzy fight night was in Saudi Arabia, that was huge. Leon just had a fight night in England. Those were huge events. Matter of fact the problem with the UFC today is that they put too many big fights on fight nights, leaving us fans with shyt PPVs.

Izzy fought on the fight night because he wanted to.
