I hold doors open and do other little shyt not based off flawed chivalrous assumptions of a weaker sex, and also not b/c I'm expecting something in return but b/c I like helping PEOPLE.

The problem with chivalry was the assumption of inferiority in women or the assumption of their inability to do for themselves.

Equity in gender now means we have an opportunity to see women beyond weakness and as capable.

But a woman's capability has nothing to do with human decency that should be afforded to all. You don't stop being kind to people (we forget women are people) just because ur petulantly mad that a capable human being wants their abilities and value recognized.
"Oh u an equal?! Open ur own doors bytch!"

How about "Yeah ur an equal but that doesn't make u perfect and if u need a hand, I got and female should do the same for us."

Is it really that hard to be reasonable these days?

I'm polite and courteous in general.

There are some things I don't do that older generations might have done. A simple example is I'll give my seat on a train for an elderly, or pregnant woman. If she's anywhere near my age, she can stand like I would.

In general I don't go out of my way to be nice to someone just because they're a woman. I don't treat them differently than I would typically treat a guy.

I also always go Dutch with women, unless we're a couple in which case we always pay for each other, so it evens. I only date professionals and only a couple expected me to pay for them. They got a and bushed.

I hold open doors for Black women regardless. I make it a point to scream on the ones who don't say at least "thank you". I don't even curse like that but I always yell "you're welcome, bytch".

Let's me release my anger..and then I can keep it moving and it won't discourage me for being courteous to the next Black woman I see.

Men are supposed to lead the community, this "He Man Woman Hater's Club" shytt has to go.

I am always courteous to older people. Some things such as holding the door etc. Etc. Are just basic shyt....no, I am not holding the door.

Now when it comes to dating. I won't keep dating a chick if I am not smashing after a couple dates. I just don't trust women my age that much. Not trying to be the guy that's paying for dates while some other is fukkin with minimal effort.

No shade, but when I hear about respecting your elders, I always think of how many of the racist folks from the Jim Crow era are elders now. Or are we only talking about black elders?

Whenever I hear about WW2 and Vietnam vets in the news, getting murked by some "young thug", I ponder if they were raping and killing innocents while they were on overseas during the war.

I'm just saying, though many times, being elderly is not always an indication a person is worthy of respect and maybe they get to see the later years in life as a curse, not a blessing.

About 7 years ago I started doing this. I guess I had a bad day or something..and maybe some women n the city had been rude to me or whatever. I'm at Livingston mall that Friday..and I didn't hold the door for a woman who was behind me with bags or something. I remember she was really pretty and she read me the riot act. She was completely right.

Knowing myself and my tendencies..I just hold doors open now for all Black women....and bark at the lowlifes who can't muster up a simple thank you. Better to scream on a few then to not extend basic courtesy to Black women.

might make me a hypocrite or a clown, but I can live with that.

Stopped holding doors for non Black women years earlier, and never looked back

If being a decent human being would get you women, most men would act and be decent to them. But that's not how this here works. Yes, I'm aware that there's a small minority of women that still appreciate good guys and chivalry, but that's a very small minority.
