Folks will wait 50 minutes for an order of ribs and fries, but act like they don't have time to exercise because of work.
See and hear it every day. “Can’t afford a fancy gym membership, don’t have time to hit a gym or workout, don’t have space or money for a home exercise equipment” like that’s the only options for exercise. Then same folks that say they got no time talk about how they finished up stranger things 3 days after the season dropped. Do some fukking body weight exercises and some standing squats and jumping jacks in front of the tv. Jump ropes are ten bucks. Hit a set of push-ups before and after you get out of bed each morning and night. Takes literally 2 minutes. Walking and running is free. Just say you’re lazy and undisciplined instead of dropping lame excuses for not bettering yourself

It's always them who initiate the convo. It's not as if I'm coming at them like some Jehovah's Witness.

I don't even bring it up unless they mention it :manny:

I plan to live longer than Bill Russell, and I’ll still be running :wow:
As long as you stay fit you’ll be fine and be able to enjoy it more due to have less health complications instead of being a living carcass waiting to die

i more of an empath so internal things like being fit or "feeling good" or cute or rich or whatever does little for me. people are still lame af and pollution is getting worse. it's pretty lame out here. i guess we'll see how it goes lol :yeshrug:

This sounds like one of those studies where there's other hidden factors at play

Someone who exercises more than 40 minutes a day (at the maximum average of 300 minutes of moderate physical activity) is probably a health nut in other ways - cleaner diet, more active, etc.

Also, being able to workout that much as an adult probably means they have money as well. So possibly less stress, more freedom of nutrition, able to travel, hang out with people living similar lifestyles, etc.

What does being able to workout have to do with money? Running is free. Body weight exercise is free. Jump ropes cost $10

1. There could be genetics that contributes to the longer life. Many western health studies are very compartmentalized, instead of holistic.

2. No, 40 minutes a day does not require you to be a health nut. It just requires you to be determined. Health nuts do far more than just exercise.

3. No, being able to lightly exercise (walking is considered this) as an adult does not mean you have money. Plenty of non-rich people get an exercise in even if it is just walking and some calisthenics.

When I calculate how much exercise I get, I fluctuate between 200 to 300 hours a week depending on how I feel. My health can get in the way sometimes (I have renal failure), but really all it has ever come down to doing anything that is difficult but good for you is having the will to do it.

:salute: Was supposed to run 6.21 mile this morning but my upper back/right chest hurting :beli: like bad probably didn’t hep that yesterday I still lifted and did my push ups at home with it bothering me
I guess I’ll use the bike today :beli:
Yea I learned my lesson working out while injured. My posture isn’t the same at the moment and I pulled a muscle in my chest (!!) so I’m going light with the upper body stuff and will be going to physical therapy for a bit to get this straightened (don’t ask me how) ASAP.
I did lose weight though 🤣 Just went too hard.
