Melo, Amar'e and Williams are not transcendent players. Amar'e and D-Will both got injured shortly after going east too.

Again, no one holds 2007 against LeBron. It was amazing what he did dragging that team to the Finals, but the east was still trash. Flip's coaching performance in the '07 ECF was appalling.

Those Miami teams were as talented as any out west the past four years. Last season they were just gassed from all those deep playoff runs. They would not have made it out of the first round in the west. But, they played in a conference where the Pacers were the #1 seed and the only other decent team, they got back to the Finals.

I'm not arguing that LeBron isn't an all-time great. He's top-ten all-time when it's all said and done, but overlooking what he's gone against in the east is like willingly covering your eyes.

Look at how they dusted Chicago in the second round with Kyrie on one leg and LeBron didn't even play that well. Jimmy Butler was locking him up and he shot under 40% for the series. You think that's getting it done against a western conference team?

He has a lot more leeway when he's going against eastern conference teams. Are you going to disagree with that statement?

So basically your just gonna keep ignoring my point so you can argue against strawmen huh? :heh:

Where did I say the West wasn't better?
When did I overlook the conference he plays in?

It's like you want to make it like I am disagreeing with you about these things so you can keep belaboring the same points over and over again because you have no rebuttal to my actual point which merely piggybacks off your very own. You put him in the better conference you are putting him with better talent and merely creating the same dynamic there has always been just with greater overall talent involved.

Doesn't matter if a guy is transcendent or not, better run orgs produce better results. The west clearly has more better run orgs and thusly more places where a transcendent player can go and flourish. All three were thought to be transcendent when they were out west. They have all had times were they were healthy and neither of them has reached the heights in the East that they did in the West.

The Heat beat any team in the West other than the Spurs especially in the first round. Memphis gives them a run. fukk were the hoe hearted ass Clips or Rockets gonna do? fukk was Portland gonna do? fukk was last years Warriors gonna do? If they get OKC in the Finals they win the chip. All that said, you take Bron away from that same team that cruised to the Finals and add Whiteside and Dragic and they couldn't even make the playoffs in the East. You can't front on Bron's impact breh.

Out here in my damn drawls
Lebron doesn't have too many holes in his game and he's not a liability at the end of close games. His passing ability makes it almost impossible to exploit his weaker point, which is still his shooting. It's not terrible at all, but a team wouldn't be wrong if they tried to make him beat them with shooting. Shaq could murder anybody inside and a good rim protector, but his pick and roll defense was terrible. Dominant offensive juggernaut, average defender overall.

Lebron is a jack of all trades. I'll vote for him over Shaq.....pending his play in this finals :francis:

Only person that stops Lebron is himself. :laff: at a nikka that won Finals MVP and put up 28 ppg on 60% shooting getting shut down. No need to stop him if he ain't on the floor in the 4th or if you team is still managing to sweep his. Spurs had had prime Shaq shooting 45% and avg. 21 in 02 btw.
Maybe really don't give Kobe enough credit for getting Shaq to the Finals. This is a weird thread, because LBJ fans are kinda forced into crediting Kobe to make their case.

Jimmy Butler is probably the best Lebron defender on the planet. Lebron bullies Tony Allen like he's barely there.

Lebron would feast in the West, breh.

Shaq's probably the closest thing to Wilt we've ever seen. But we can't really compare previous players to LBJ, because we've never seen anything like him before. We've seen closely related prototypes of LeBron like Oscar Robertson(easily the closest), Magic, but nothing quite like LeBron James.
