please dont bring this back in my day crap in here, reggie miller and them boys would have broken limbs trying to guard bron, and that one on one defense is a whole nother topic :lolbron:

Yea because guys like Karl Malone and Charles Barkley, Mason and Oakley would let you just run down the wing all game and slamming on people like today... :sas2:

Stop pretending like rules dont change stats. If harden gets 15+ fts a game today, what would Jordan get today?

All the crying you see today :sadbron:... go watch 40for40 Detroit Pistons, they didnt even have flagrant fouls back in the day. You would have someone elbow you in the throat and best case scenario its a foul, worst case... no one seen it

We are going to ignore hand checks right.. So 10 yers ago you can reach in, slap hands, poke away no issue. Now if you try and dont get the ball completely its a whistle. :comeon:

With guys like Drummend, Deandre getting 10/14 a game, what do you think shaq would average today? :mjlol:

I see your type (especially judging my your avi) and know there is no convincing you, youre going to always feel that time frame is superior. if you think those people would stop bron youre crazy, who guarded jordan, john stockton, gary payton, john starks, weggie miller, byron russel, mark price????? cmon man I love wutang and the 90's just as much as you but bron would dominate those people too, if they were so dominate how come none of them have a ring?

You do realize that FT shooting is lower now than it used to be, right? There was less flagrants but more fouls called. Lebron would average way more FTs in the 80s if he was being guarded by the likes of Craig Elho and shyt.

The speed of the game is much faster today and Shaq wouldn't average as much as he did in his prime even if he'd be more dominant. It's much harder to run a great offense through back to the basket players now because the rules that were put into place to stop Shaq's dominance. A lot of the elbows Shaq threw would be offensive fouls and flagrants now.

Ok lets take time to break this down..

(this coming from a dude with someone elses lambo as his pic, my avi means shyt, I always liked wu, nothing more, i am not wu stan or wu army... your flawed)

if you think those people would stop bron youre crazy, who guarded jordan, john stockton, gary payton, john starks, weggie miller, byron russel, mark price?????
you again sound very stupid, go read my replies rather then starting an arguement based on your own assumptions. I never said no one would stop lebron, I even said he would still be great., so yet again flawed, you wasted your time here, i would say my time as well but my boss is paying me to read your shyt so its all good. :manny:

:heh: what? do you have any idea how many ppg teams were scoring in the mid 80s?

84 nuggets...kiki vandegwege averaged 29 ppg

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DEN/1984/gamelog/

they scored like 130 game just straight up fast break basketball

the game IS NOT FASTER NOW nor is that relevant to this thread. SHAQS game would not be faster because you form the offense to the strength of your best players...so back-to-the-basketball game would always be a part of his teams.

I'm actually struggling to understand it's relevance to a discussion about how Bron would've done had he been out West.
Wouldn't his Finals record be an indication of that? Or were Wade and Bosh not the quality of teammates he would have had in the west?

bro. its toss up.. on one side you have the most dominating force at the center position..

on the other you have the most dominating force at the forward position..

but imagine prime shaq and prime lebron..

lebron would be a 20-20 player and shaq a 40-20 for a good stretch..

cant guard neither on single coverage...

my lord.:whoo:
6 rangs easy :wow:

The 6
Some all-time greats' Finals records since the 1980 Playoffs (1st Playoffs with the 3-point line, active players in bold):

Michael Jordan: 6-0
Kobe Bryant: 5-2
Tim Duncan: 5-1

Magic Johnson: 5-4
Shaquille O'Neal: 4-2
Larry Bird: 3-2
Dwyane Wade: 3-2
Isaiah Thomas/Joe Dumars: 2-1
Hakeem Olajuwon: 2-1
LeBron James: 2-3

That right there is the historical perspective of where LeBron is at right now. He's only 30 so he can still climb that list. I don't see Cleveland beating the Warriors this year. If they do that certainly adds to his legacy.

Shaq made the "weak centers" look weak when in reality the brad millers and ostertags and kandimans of the world would be getting 17 million today

:mjlol:

We gotta disagree 100% on this:heh:

Marc Gasol, DeMarcus Cousins, DeAndre Jordan, Joakim Noah, Al Jefferson, Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, Al Horford, Nikola Vucevic, Nikola Pekovic > Those Centers from that era (Brad Miller, Greg Ostertag, etc)

Well for starters his starting lineup in one of those Finals featured Sasha Pavlovic, Drew Gooden, Big Z, and Larry Hughes :francis:. That certainly isn't the quality he would have had out west. Heat were top heavy and soft in the middle and they were still a Bron :hamster: performance from going 3-1 in the Finals. If OKC is healthy they beat them last year. There is no :hamster: if he's more familiar against those Western teams and their defensive strategies. You notice that never happened in the East (for an entire series) and he was playing against some great defensive teams (Pistons, Celtics, Pacers). Sure he had some struggles but never completely frozen like that. So yeah you put him on a team with more depth and better bigs and have him going against teams he's familiar with that play a more free flowing game and I'm not seeing what stops him. The West just has deeper, better run teams. Bron would flourish out there. Just look at the stars that came East from the West (Melo, Amare, D. Will). None of them have come close to the success they experienced out West, despite being in the inferior conference.
