To play devil's advocate....i guess the flipside to this question would be; Why does Drake's success fuel his stans/fans to ride for him as much as they do? Why does Drake's success make it so that anytime someone brings up something less than favorable regarding son...its never seen as criticism, but always as hate?

This isn't the case though it's mostly hate. I have loads of critisms for drake artistically. I don't put him as a top tier mc, I don't really love any drake album pre take care. Critisism is ok but the Coli has a weird hater obsession that goes beyond just critisism

A better question would be why does the backlash bother you so much? Why this concerted effort to cape for him when people aren't even irrationally hating like they were when 50 and Hov were the top dogs...We're mostly just calling out his fraudulence & mediocrity because too many of you won't.

You just fuel the hate by trying to put this pop act on an untouchable pedastool that far greater rappers were not afforded.

Let's pretend like that only happens with Drake stans. and that Duckworths are not THE biggest offenders on the web.

I don't see Drake stans flooding the booth with Drake thinkpieces and Nas/GOAT comparisons like Ducks do.

and @WickedGames, supposedly "the biggest Drake stan on The Coli", said this (with important parts bolded):

This isn't the case though it's mostly hate. I have loads of critisms for drake artistically. I don't put him as a top tier mc, I don't really love any drake album pre take care. Critisism is ok but the Coli has a weird hater obsession that goes beyond just critisism

I'm yet to see Duckworths acknowledge that Duck has a single weakness. Can you imagine dikkriders like KP acknowledging that Kendrick has a single flaw? or even loads of them? They're too busy rambling about Black excellence and deflecting.

It's irrational hate. Even got some of y'all calling SirBiatch a Drake stan :mjlol:

Just because we don't give a fukk about a pop rapper's ghostwriting doesn't mean he's above criticism. and like all topics, they reach saturation point. Constantly bringing up a non-issue that's been exhausted over and over and over again is :russell:

Drakes success was manufactured?
You can't manufacture someone's success unless the record labels are literally buying his albums and buying his concert tickets.
You didnt know this been a label tactic to create false sucess for years.

Its no diff than buying facebook/instagram followers.

Its not that far fetched as a concept.

100% false. This thread is reaffirming the stereotype that females shouldn't be taken seriously when discussing rap music.

"Fancy" was a flop. Clear Channel hand picked it to spin thousands of times in a program called "On The Verge" where they more or less force a song to be a hit.

And :ohhh:it turned into a hit.

HOW SWAY? you might ask.

Because the human brain is wired to respond to repetition. Even a song you initially hate, you're more likely to like after constantly hearing it than a song you liked in the first place.

This is hard science.

Music and Emotions in the Brain: Familiarity Matters

I'm sure this is the part where you say "bu bu but it's not fool proof"....so? Nothing is. Doesn't change the fact that enough money and effort put into a hunk of shyt record can and will turn it into a hit. You thought they left this kind of shyt to chance? You thought all those IG thots repeating Drake lyrics was because of the quality? :mjlol:

Now please take several seats. Preferably on my face, because you're kinda cute. :shaq:
