I view life a bit differently than most.

I personally wouldn't mind dying young if it meant living an ideal life. I just turned 30 and I would have totally traded places in life with 2pac/Biggie or Junior Seau. Most people live life going to work everyday doing some shyt they hate and live for the weekends and random moments here and there. If you told me I could do what I love for a living, make millions (yeah I know 2pac died broke but he still lived lavish), not work a regular job but in turn I died early.....I'd take that everyday.

That said, my kids are free to live the life they deem will make them the most happy.

My brother played from 6-18 and never suffered any injuries besides a high ankle sprain. Like another said. He has more of a chance getting killed driving or flying. If he wants to play I'll let him. Just going to make sure I teach him the fundamentals. But yeah I know there are risks

It depends, like I played two years of HS ball, wish I would've played more but then I heard of a local player dying due to an aneurysm. They said football wasn't the cause but still, scared the shyt outta me.

If my son wants to play then I'll let him play but I'll also discuss the dangers with the sport. I'd also let him try some other sports and see if he likes them more than football.

How is it insecurity?

:mjlol:

Football is dangerous and leads to long term brain damage. Not real tough to understand, unless you've taken repeated blows to the head playing football.
if your fortunate enough not to get any severe injuries at a young age and you know what your doing technique-wise you won't have to worry about long term injuries, get that second contract and leave like everybody else is.

it's too much of a crap shoot if you had major injuries in high school or college to gamble in the nfl, your obviously not going to get drafted too high for that reason.

Every sport on this forum has haters

Basketball, Football, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, Boxing, etc

Get over it. You're not special

Why don't people complain about boxing like they do football?
Boxing is a niche sport

Again, you're making catty comments like a woman...about a sport.

There are plenty of elderly ex-players who are doing fine.

Not everybody ends up fukked up like some of those guys on the 86 Bears.

I feel like there's a insecurity about toughness...because we know how NBA players like to act hard and talk about being soft....but you're playing basketball....aint nobody gonna hit you. And when you see them try and fight...it's comical. A bunch of lanky weak dudes fighting like women talking about being hard, then flopping like a bytch.

OK, shyt on football if it makes you feel more secure.:ld:
