Beliefs have nothing to do with it most of these war torn countries where peaceful in the 60s and 70s.
Its all about Power a dictator or group that wants control will always have a western country answer the call to supply weapons and money.
Religion is just a tool leaders use to justify what there doing. If you look at Trump hes probably the least religious person out there but he has evangelical cacs by the balls.

Its not as simple as a mindset change its fear. Somalia was a muslim country in the 80s and they werent killing each other. You have evil people that are power hungry and people with money who have interests playing sides
