Of course coaches and players are going to praise Kobe. Every great player gets universal praise from all his peers and coaches. With the way the media attacks critical comments and tries to generate conflict, no one is going to put themselves in a position to tear down a player. I'm sure players and coaches all notice that Kobe takes a lot of bad shots, plays a lot of shoddy defense, and has a lot of excuses made for him, but why would they talk about that? How many players and coaches criticized LeBron for sucking in the 2011 finals? How many criticized Kobe for mailing it in against the Suns? It's just not something players and coaches are going to do.

Doc Rivers said this year Kobe is UNDERRATED. Its not just that he gets praise like any great player. He gets MORE praise from his peers than anyone we've seen since Michael Jordan. There are youtube videos filled with nearly every great player and coach in the NBA singing Kobe's praise. Especially from 05-08, when almost every opponent made a point of saying he was far and away the best player in the league.

Kobe is a top 10 player AT WORST and most likely will be top 5 by the end of his career. Anything short of that is HATING. Period.

I don't enjoy watching Kobe.. He's a bizarro world, fraud MJ. I saw MJ and was amazed..

I'm not amazed at all by anything Kobe has done..ANYTHING

well millions disagree with you

he's not the most popular player in the world post-Jordan for no reason

you might not enjoy watching him play, but just realize in the world of basketball fans you are in the minority. Most of Kobe's fans enjoy watching him play because he reminds them so much of Jordan. Not a bizzaro fraud but as the closest we've ever seen to him.

the only basketball player more beloved in the history of the NBA is Michael Jordan

This is the damn problem.. You nikkas got force fed by the league that every hot shot swingman was the next MJ.. Kobe was the only one out of all of them that was actually good..

But he is not MJ no matter how hard he tries and what you nikkas think..

He's not even close..

:what: Kobe has a career FG percentage of 45.5%. How can you say he's between 38-45 when his career average is above the high point you've pegged him at. Plus he's only shot below 45% for 4 years out of his 17 year career (with lowest being 41% as a rookie).

Plus, the main reason Kobe's fg% is low compared to dudes like Jordan is because he shoots more 3s. 33.3% shooting from 3 is the equivalent of 50% from 2 on a point for point basis. If you actually used his TRUE SHOOTING PERCENTAGE which is a combination of fg%, 3fg%, and ft%, you get:

Kobe: 55.5 TS% career
Jordan: 56.9 TS% career

so thats a difference of 1.4% between super chucker Kobe and super efficient MJ

The agenda in sports is laughable, I called this shyt when he got to 4 rings. The fact that he was compared to Jordan early on and didn't fail is the root of this and the fact that he is only 1 ring removed from MJ is driving force behind shyt like this. All these articles and "critiques" and "analysis" pieces serve one purpose, and that's to tear down Kobe so he is s less of a threat to Michael. Instead of telling the masses about everything Mike was, writers feel like they have to tell us everything that Kobe isn't. Kobe is 1 of the most offensively skilled players to ever play this game and people who played the game recognize his place in history. This shyt is getting old, enjoy this dude while you can and stop trying to secure the greatness of Mike at his expense, MJ doesn't need the help.

Dude barely mentioned MJ though. :heh: I've seen "Kobe ain't MJ" pieces and this ain't one. He mentioned Lebron more and rode Lebron's sack way harder. We really gonna act like Kobe hasn't gotten mad love from the media though? :usure: That's just as bad as my man acting like he never caught any heat.

As far as the article goes he has some points however he executed poorly, made some Mr. Fantastic level reaches, and went on waaaaay too long. People have ignored many of Kobe's flaws and shortcomings because of his rep, the team he plays for, his fortunate circumstances, and of course his special abilities. He's undeniably an all-time great but a lot of things outside of his actual production has contributed to his rep. It is possible to get this point across without sounding like a petty hater. Clearly the writer was not aware of this.

I don't care if you feel he ain't close. That is simply your opinion. There are other dudes that saw them play and say he's close. In fact, most of those dudes got more credibility than you since they played with/against Jordan.

Just know that this is simply YOUR OPINION. It isn't a fact that Kobe ain't close to Jordan. I believe he's close. But once again that is simply my opinion and means nothing more than yours.

I guess you think Doc Rivers is still awestruck by Kobe's blistering 40% shooting in those finals series, right? Fact is, you completely ignored the context of what Doc was saying.

Funny how the stans will embrace advanced statistics when it supports their agenda. :smugdraper:

:mindblown:

:snoop: maybe because his entire team has been injured all year

Nash - out over 2 months of the season with broken leg and now has the hamstring problem that might have him out again
Gasol - torn plantar faciatis, missed 2 months of the season
World Peace - torn meniscus, out the rest of the season
Dwight - recovering from back surgery, playing through torn labrum in his shoulder
Kobe - although he's been healthy most of the year, he had a severe ankle sprain 2 weeks ago and now has bone spurs which have him on crutches

and this doesn't include key bench guys like Steve Blake who missed over half the season with injuries and Jordan Hill (who was the primary backup to Gasol/Howard) who has been out the entire season

The starting lineup has not even played 10 games together. How can you act like this is kobe's fault?

nikka fukk all that..

Take his nuts out ya mouf and stop makin excuses..

He ain't shyt as a person or as a leader on a team.. He can only get buckets and put up stats.. He won 3 straight with the most dominant ever and his team was asscheeks after Shaq left..

Jerry West gave him a gift with a top 5 PF at the time and he won 2 more..

The nikka is a fukkin fraud as a lead dog on a team..
