Kobe's overrated. The majority of his 50 plus point games came against NON PLAYOFF TEAMS. THere's a reason he has very few 50 point games in the playoffs. I can only recall one off the top of my head.

This is the type of stupidity that plagues the Kobe haters fanbase and why we say yall are bias:ufdup:

You cant use this argument for Kobe, but then not use the same statement for ALL players:snoop:

Yes, Kobe has scored 50 or more points 25 times in his career. 9 of those 25 times were against teams who made the playoffs (36% of the time...Never scored 50 or more during the playoffs)

50 points on 1-7-2006 against the Clippers who made the playoffs
50 points on 5-4-2006 against the Suns who made the playoffs
51 points on 1-19-2006 against the Kings who made the playoffs
51 points on 4-7-2006 against the Suns who made the playoffs
52 points on 11-30-2006 against the Jazz who made the playoffs
52 points on 3-2-2008 against the Mavericks who made the playoffs
53 points on 12-15-2006 against the Rockets who made the playoffs
53 points on 3-30-2007 against the Rockets who made the playoffs
56 points on 12-20-2006 against the Mavericks who made the playoffs

BUT......:whoa:

LeBron James has scored 50 or more points 9 times in his career. 2 of those 9 times were against teams who made the playoffs (22% of the time...Never scored 50 or more during the playoffs)

51 points on 2-3-2011 against the Magic who made the playoffs
52 points on 12-10-2005 against the Bucks who made the playoffs

With those FACTS being presented.....could we then ALSO say:

"LeBron's overrated. The majority of his 50 plus point games came against NON PLAYOFF TEAMS. THere's a reason he has very few 50 point games in the playoffs."?

Lebron plays a very different game than kobe. The arguments in favor of Kobe's greatness revolve around how many points he scores (take his 81 point game or his 40 ppg streak). Kobe's supposed to be an all time great scorer but the fact is he feasts on crappy teams. I realize I am responding seriously to somebody who wrote, "Kobe haters fanbase" but let's give this a shot anyway.

If Kobe is such a great scorer, then why doesn't have have any 81 point games in the playoffs? how about 70 or 60? I'm not going to bother looking, but I believe he only has one 50 point game in the playoffs despite playing more than Jordan.

Scoring is Kobe's domain, correct? Yet he has 2 scoring titles?

<---- Waits for the "Kobe's jumper is so purdy!" argument.

Yeah. But he scores against crappy competition and folds up against good competition.

Thank you for understanding my point. And Kevin Durant is about to have more scoring titles than Kobe already....

Kobe isn't as great as his stans make him out to be and he isn't as bad as his haters say he is either. He is overrated if you have him on Jordan's and Lebron's level. He isn't as consistent, dominant and smart as those two, but he is still one of the 10 greatest players to ever play and his skill-set is arguably top 3 all-time.

nikka please

Kobe Bryant in his prime is just as dominant as both, matter of fact...Kobe gets doubled to this day when he touches the ball, meanwhile defenders still play off LeBron

like how can you be as prolific as a scorer as Kobe and not be as dominant? shyt doesnt make sense, there is not one thing Jordan could do on a court that Kobe couldnt, but he isnt as fominat? like I said nikka please

Kobe is the most dominant scorer of all time behind Wilt, you dont drop 50 5 straight times, 81, 60x and not be one of the most dominat players of all time...its like a running back running for 300 yds in a game, or a reciever catching 30 balls and not being one of the most dominant of all time

how is Kobe having the best season EVER for a 34 year old and not one of the most dominant ever? makes no sense

then you say Kobe isnt as smart...:comeon:

nobody believes that but you, you cant confuse IQ with him just not wanting to pass the ball

why do nobody ever detract from Jordan for not passing? at 34, he averaged less points than Kobe with more shots...Kobe averages more assist and rebounds as well as 34

So the fact that Kobe shoots like shyt in clutch situations is not true because you and others believe its not true. I know Colbert coined "truthiness" in a different context, but it's precisely what you stans are responding with now.
every player in the NBA has a bad clutch shooting percentage, Kobe has just taken and made more...he's also shown that his performance and mindset doesnt falter in the clutch (ex. LeBron getting sonned by a 6th man against Dallas)

kobe;s clutchness isnt debateble, no player has made more clutch shots in the last decade

You can't confuse IQ with him just not wanting to pass the ball? YES you can. Part of IQ is passing to a better option to score, not shooting fade aways over multiple players. People won't detract from Jordan because even though he was a selfish chucker too, Jordan took and made more SMARTER shots than Kobe.....that's why. IQ is what separates Jordan from Kobe. Bean has an high IQ yes, but unfortunately he doesn't use it like he should all of the time. Just look at the stupid turnovers he has and his shot selection, any real Kobe fan will admit to this.

Fact that Kobe is so high on this list after spending 2 years on the bench is an accomplishment.

Kobe should be given extra credit for not being good enough to start?

:aicmon:

not necessarily but in this case it provides context

Kobe's career PPG is not indicative of his greatness scoring-wise because he spent a majority of his prime playing with another 28ppg scorer. If Kobe had played on his own team from the beginning like MJ, AI, Durant, etc. he would've had alot more than 2 scoring titles and averaged alot higher than 25.5ppg.

The fact Kobe's third all-time in 50 point games should saying something about how explosive a scorer he was. In 2 years, 05-07, he had 16 50 point games in that span. Thats more than any other player in NBA history outside of Wilt and Jordan. And that was in just TWO YEARS!!!

Imagine if a 21 year old Kobe was fighting to make the playoffs for 4-5 seasons in the eastern conference like AI and T-Mac all those years. He prolly woulda had WAY MORE 50 point games and his career average would be closer to 30ppg.

You are obtuse. FIrst of all, Durant is about to surpass kobe in scoring titles despite having far fewer seasons.

Second, Jordan was winning scoring titles in his 30's.

Third, if Kobe was such an explosive scorer, then how come he has so few scoring titles? Think logically for a minute. Even when he had all his 50point games, he still did not win scoring titles. Maybe it's because he's STREAKY and INCONSISTENT?

Fourth, how come Kobe doesn't have that many 50 point games in the playoffs?

But we DID watch the games and it's not without context.

Dude asked how is Kobe supposed to be one of the great all-time scorers. Well, the fact that his PPG career average, combined with his numerous 50 point games, and scoring titles all combined makes him 2nd to only MJ as a scorer in the last 40 years.

Come on breh.
