Especially, with young progressives :francis: The Democratic Party is moving far right and they are even trying to screw Bernie. Peeps used to say that Republicans were for the rich (not true) when the Democrats are the same coin. Hell, they wouldn't even let Lessig debate :snoop::mjcry: Sure he would have been pressed to move left on certain issues. Atleast he went to Ferguson. If 2020 or 2024 comes I wonder what the candidates would look like :patrice: Or would it still be corrupt:patrice: We have to get money out of politics on both sides.

Im literally watching a generational voting cycle repeat itself and its outright hilarious. Young liberals had a movement back in 2000 where they thought they could unite progressives behind Nader and the Green Party. The Green Party was going to be the new face of the left and the Democratic party was going to become marginalized as the youth not only let their voices be heard in 2000 but would keep the movement going in 2004, 2008, etc......

If you want to see a major party move to the left you are actually on the right track by supporting Bernie and forcing Hillary to speak to more leftist issues, but its only the first step. You need to actually show up for once in a midterm election and let your voices be heard again. If you do this then you will get politicians elected that support your cause like the Tea Party did. Keep moving in that direction and eventually one of those politicians will remain popular and be able to make a serious run at the presidency. When that happens since you have been voting in midterm elections as you should then he/she will have backing in the House, Senate, and Supreme Court so that their progressive legislation has a chance at passing.

If you decide to essentially take your ball and go home as you are suggesting, all you are doing is handing the entire structure of the US government to the republicans for a decade at a minimum and ruining any hope you have of seeing the type of changes you want in your lifetime.

Long story short, if Hillary doesnt win this election you can kiss all those progressive policies you are wishing for goodbye for the rest of your meaningful life.

What philosophies, ideas, and principles in terms of policies are the Democratic Party adopting that mirrors the Republican party?

Is this a rhetorical question? Look, Clinton is doing 350K fundraisers. Getting money from big corporations and etc. Plus, Debbie Wasserman Schultz is crooked.

Problem is, progressives don't want to vote for Clinton because she's a fraud.

Ok, so are you telling me progressives arent intelligent enough to look at the situation politically and determine that voting for Hillary in the general is the best route to take since it preserves their vision for the future through later candidates?

If Bernie gets the nomination he will need 350K fundraisers if he actually wants to win and wants down ticket democrats to win as well. He wouldnt be able to compete with only the small $27 dollar donations no matter what you want to believe.

Voting for someone who is the most corrupt out there and untrustworthy? This is why Bernie has to get the Democratic nomination for progressives.

P.S. this type of thinking is what's WRONG with the Democratic party.

Okay im just going to ask you straight up. Yes or no, do you believe Ted Cruz or Donald Trump winning this presidential election would leave this country in a better position to enact the policies you like in your lifetime over Hillary winning?
