Given this and the kinte cloth Like button that they made for Black History Month, my guess is that Facebook is trying to repair their image of being discriminatory to blacks. They've become known for banning black folks talking about progressive topics and not employing anyone black. Meanwhile you can post blatant racism, twerking, fighting, and all manners of ratchet behavior without so much as a warning.
Facebook has incubated a situation for an exodus of blacks off of their site, and they're fully aware that it's in their best interests to at least look like they're attempting to fix the disparity. For all the fukkery and silliness we engage in on social media, it's hard to argue that we produce the most popular content of any group. There is economic power in this that we have to learn to harness because right now it's going to Facebook, Twitter, and other white owned entities.
