JW's say that Jesus was Michael.

"Michael, referred to by some religions as “Saint Michael,” is evidently a name given to Jesus before and after his life on earth. a Michael disputed with Satan after the death of Moses and helped an angel deliver God’s message to the prophet Daniel. (Daniel 10:13, 21; Jude 9) Michael lives up to the meaning of his name—“Who Is Like God?”—by defending God’s rulership and fighting God’s enemies.—Daniel 12:1; Revelation 12:7."

NOTE: "evidently" is one of their weasel words.

also note they changed that belief 5 times:

Michael the Archangel is described in Daniel 10:13 as "Mi´cha·el, one of the foremost princes" and at Revelation 12:7 it says " Mi´cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled." In the fifty years between 1880 and 1930 there were five changes as to who Michael was.

1. An Angel that worships Jesus

"Hence it is said, "Let all the angels of God worship him;" [that must include Michael, the chief angel, hence Michael is not the Son of God] and the reason is, because He has "by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they."" Zion's Watch Tower 1879 Nov p.4

2. The Pope and Antichrist

"Michael and his angels"--the papacy and its supporters--fought against the dragon--pagan rulers, etc.,-- and the great dragon was cast out of heaven. Zion's Watch Tower 1879 December p.6

3. Michael was the pre-human Jesus Christ

"Can it be that he who was called Michael--Jehovah's chief-messenger--was none other than our Lord in his pre-human condition? we conclude that HE must have been "chief messenger." " Zion's Watch Tower 1883 June p.3

4. The Pope again

"Michael.--- "Who as God," the Pope." The Finished Mystery 1917 p.188

5. Jesus in heaven

Since the 1930's Michael is explained to be the heavenly name for Jesus.

"For many years Jehovah's Witnesses have taught that Michael is a heavenly name for the only-begotten Son of God, who was named Jesus while on earth." Watchtower 1984 December 15 p.26

Angel means messenger.

not sure about that.

was sodom a real place?

also here is a breakdown of the story .. guts and all.

i dont know what JW say about Sodom but an important note is that the battle that occurred there is the main narrative about it

The Battle of the Vale of Siddim, also often called the War of Nine Kings or the Slaughter of Chedorlaomer, is an event reported in the Hebrew Bible's Book of Genesis,[1] which occurred in the days of Abram and Lot. The Vale of Siddim was the battleground for the cities of the Jordan River plain revolting against Mesopotamian rule.

one of the things that occurred to me if you localize around Moses story (if he lives in the time of a Pharaoh who knows Joseph). For the narrative according to Moses to be true then certain places outside of his narrative have to always be there

so when you say "was it a real place" a better question is is it an "always formed place"?

see this post for my extended thought on it

nah i like "was it a real place" :hubie:
maybe what im suggesting is alittle scary, but technically what im implying should be true

the phrase "is there anything too hard for the Lord" is what comes to mind. If God established the "ordinances" for which reality is based on

then the contexts (places to be, peoples in those places, backstories and so forth) could be changeable

not saying that God would change them but it does make you think...its along the lines of something I mentioned to @Koichos regarding scrolls when "wound upon themselves". If a story looped could it continually exist and are the stories on each scroll meant to interact with eachother? with itself even?
