The problem with this thread is "fake news" isn't clearly being defined.
What exactly is it? There's a difference between getting the news genuinely wrong and outright lying/being deceitful
How does Propaganda come into play? Is it news because its news in and of itself or is it news to further an agenda?
Is not reporting on information fake news as well? How do we decipher what news is important and what news is not as important?

Also, here's my personal go-to sources for news (in no particular order):

Least Biased/Neutral (:ahh:):

-Associated Press
-Reuters
-Pew Research

Very Good Journalism, Low/Moderate Bias (:obama:):

-NPR (National Public Radio)
-The Wall Street Journal
-The New York Times
-USA Today
-Washington Post
-BBC
-The Independent
-ProPublica
-The Economist
-The Hill

Fairly Biased, Mostly Decent Journalism (:ehh:):

-NBC News
-CBS News
-The Atlantic
-Forbes
-Business Insider
-Local News
-Los Angeles Times
-Politico

Mostly Biased (:leostare:):

-CNN
-Fox News
-MSNBC
-Huffington Post
-Daily Beast
-Washington Times
-New York Post
-Vox
-ShareBlue
-Newsmax

Biased, Sensationalist Journalism (:beli:):

-Breitbart
-Daily Kos
-Drudge Report
-Occupy Democrats
-Addicting Info
-Reddit
-Buzzfeed
-NowThis News
-The Young Turks

STAY AWAY (:pacspit:):

-RT (Russian Times)
-National Enquirer
-InfoWars.com
-PrisonPlanet.com
-Amateur opinion blogs/vlogs
-Personal opinions

This post is dangerous and confusing because you list different sources and their level of credibility without giving explanations on why you came to that conclusion all the while warning against the very thing you're doing in the OP

But I will take your own advice and stay away from personal opinions

Is snopes reliable

I find Snopes useful for fact-checking rumors and health scares in my social media feeds (like chicken heads found in a box of KFC, coffee causing cancer, or vaccines causing autism, BS like that). They're usually good at being on top of that. :kanyebp:

I don't use them for political fact checking, tho :hubie:

An interesting analysis of how Fox News covers stories:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/25/...mdesk&kwp_0=372145&kwp_4=1387548&kwp_1=611523

Very interesting look into a recent news day at Fox News, and how their coverage differs from other MSM outlets.

The most confusing part is that Fox News boasts about being the top news organization, yet talks about "mainstream media" as separate from itself :mindblown:

How are you supposedly the biggest news outlet in the country (they're actually #2 behind CNN) and NOT part of the "mainstream media"? :what:

i really cant get past the levels of hypocrisy ive seen from both sides in the past year. you literally cant trust any left or right wing news outlet to report on a negative thing about their side. its just disgraceful :scustrump:

It's become harder now to consume news , because you have to do so much extra legwork to verify whether it's valid or not. :snoop:

For example, I typically avoid reading Vox, but I respect the opinion of the writer of this Vox article :patrice::

The easiest way to guess if someone supports Trump? Ask if Obama is a Muslim.

Seems like new indy news orgs pop up everyday, and honestly it's hard to keep track of it all.

at the same time, motherfukkers act like he had some kinda inside track or connection :deadjay:

all he did was scour twitter for tweets and write "holy. fukkin. shyt" after he posted someone else's opinion

:russ:

That's the problem with listening to sources like Mensch, Schindler, and Claude Taylor; you can't verify their info b/c they can't reveal their sources until the info is made public and corroborated with MSM.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Agenda based news is not a good thing, but the facts are the facts. No matter the spin put on the news from the outlets, right or left, we are dealing with unprecedented actions from the government now and if you look at it with no blinders on, you will see that something completely fishy is going on here. This president and administration is really bad at governing.
