all that over a cell phone in class:scust:
So glad I graduated in 2003 with honors. Wouldn't be able to do well if I was in High School 2013-2015. Maybe wouldn't have even graduated.

With a fair and good heart, I can say it's unfortunate the cop and his family may suffer stress and less money. But I'm sure he's financially set and can move on. He's not a victim here. A young girl was hurt, and she and other students were traumatized when they should be guided and nurtured.

Ultimately this was the right decision, and holding teacher accountable somehow is the next right move.

The problems posed in that video go far beyond one cop. African-Americans need to start demanding real solutions from their leaders rather than these mickey mouse half solutions that portray systemic issues as individual misconduct. I'm not going to celebrate the cops firing because he should never have been hired in the first place.

Ask yourself this, what would have happened if this was a white girl...numerous people would lose their jobs, a panel would be created to see if this issue was systemic throughout the school system and major protocols and procedures would be implemented to ensure that this never happens again.

Until we start talking about the real issue, which is that society fundamentally values non-black lives more than black lives, and only the real issue we will never get a real solution. Rather we just play whack-a-mole every time situations like this arise and pretend to be shocked that something like this could happen in America.
