Yep, non rap fan may not have had a clue about who he was and that's fair but if you were a fan of rap you knew, and Victory Lap was pretty anticipated. It even debuted in the top 5 on the billboard and nominated for a grammy and that was over a year before he died.

Hardly anyone was concerned about Nipsey before his death

Me personally never listened to one track until after he died

The only issue I have is that the joke wasn't funny enough...a little too straightforward when it should've been more subtle 🤷🏾‍♂️.

This is pretty much how every Family Guy joke has been written since.........2013, probably? None of the characters talk like real people anymore. They explain every joke they're about to make, point out how ridiculous a certain trope is in media while playing it completely straight, tell us what we can clearly see on screen. That's why they can't do parodies anymore because they're not sincere enough to commit to it. They have to be sarcastic in every line, every scene. Doesn't matter who the character is or if it makes sense for them to be sarcastic. They can't take anything seriously anymore.

And it's not like it's not funny sometimes. I got used to it after a while when I realized they weren't going to stop doing it. But sometimes, it's annoying and doesn't make sense. Like when Brian was pretending to be a cat and Lois is like, "I'm going to pet you lightly so don't act like you like it at first and then bite me." You know what the joke is before they make it because they literally told you. Then Brian bites her, and Lois is like, "Dammit! I'm going online and buying a $70 toy you'll hate!" Why is that funny? I know people do that in real life, but wouldn't it be funnier to see Lois buy the toy and Brian hates playing with it? Why would Lois say something like that after she just got bit? That's what I mean, that really sarcastic style of talking.

It's a disconnect between folks from the west and everyone else when it comes to Nipsey...I'm from Vegas and his shyt was banging all over the city way before his death... people fukked with Nip in LV....his death definitely enhanced his legacy x100 but it doesn't take away his influence on the rap game particularly on the west coast.

Honestly Family Guy gives it to everyone the same way equally so I feel you can't pick and choose unless you made about all the other jokes they do in general.

I bought the gold version and regular version of victory lap on vinyl when it 1st dropped, and became a fan around the time slauson boy 2 dropped, it's one thing to not get into his music because I felt that way about Pop Smoke and still do, but I knew who he was.

Yeah but that’s a white show which means they’re late adopters.

I’m saying if a lot of rap fans weren’t into it you can understand them not hearing about him

Dude was a lame Semi Snoop clone. Didn't care for him at all. That DJ Khaled tribute song was so corny and exemplified everything lame about people.

not sayin he was a huge star, but he was still sellin out venues in Texas, New York,Atlanta, Maryland etc, even was even doin Festivals in Europe.

“Venues” lol. Nice wording. Don’t know why it matters that he was a B level rapper before he died. His fans should just be happy more people started listening to his music instead of trying to convince the world he was bigger than he was.
