Very few people outside of Cali fukked with Nipsey like that before his death. I was always a fan of his and I remember friends and family members clowning me for fukking with his music heavy. He only started gaining some buzz once he dropped Victory Lap and only after he died did people start comparing him to Pac and pretending to always be a fan of his and acting like he made a huge cultural impact on Rap.

Let's be reality I liked Nipseys music and started listening around 2012-2013 and he def had a decent sized and loyal fanbase on the Coli. But dude was a regional rapper not saying his star wasn't rising but he died before we could see that play out. Victory Lap had the feel of a breakout album.
