shyt if McfukkingDonald's paying 15 an hour I'm gone get a part time there too

actually it is a skill
and knowing that many dont have it
I do mention it in interviews
I work in a highly stressful work environment in Afghanistan where some of my co-workers have died so YES self control is a skill![]()

There are some entry level positions out of college that don't pay $15/hr, you mean to tell me flipping burgers going to pay that much? I don't see that happening.

everything you said is A1....Y'all act like there are a plethora of better paying non skilled opportunities out there , retail pays just as shytty. Garbage man? Civil jobs are locked up, You're not getting those jobs unless you have an inside contact. A lot of people don't have skills and are trying to survive, they have that right, sadly the job prospects are low...someone has to work these jobs - there are only so many secretary, assembly line, erc jobs out there. Then let's not even talk about the bullshyt justice systems where minorities catch felonies for bogus drug laws, they end up stuck with these jobs as the only option as well. Lastly, y'all worried about dollar menus and capitalism when it's your tax dollars that subsidize these workers. Last stat I remember is like $1bn in tax dollars go to support wal-mart's US workforce based on all the social services they need to survive. You're telling me a company with $492b in revenus and $17bn in profit can't reinvest the $1bn needed to properly support it's workers?
Side with corporate greed brehs.

There are jobs that don't require a college degree that pay 28 dollars/hr
What's your point?
No wealth does not come out of thin air, but it doesn't come from the government either.
Wealth starts with good ideas that create good jobs. Capitalism is a very messed up system, but it is the only system with historical success.
Businesses are the engine of the economy. Without businesses there would be no jobs. Without it there would be nobody to tax. Without it there would be a very small government. Governments are only able to provide jobs because they taxed the money from businesses and the employees of businesses.
Governments by themselves cannot create jobs. Governments do borrow, but they wouldn't be able to borrow if they didn't have tax revenue to prove their ability to repay. So our functioning economy depends on businesses to provide jobs, so those jobs can be taxed and so that the gov't can provide necessary jobs and help the needy.
So real wealth starts with someone having an idea of a product or service they can provide that they think there would be demand for. This ultimately benefits many people in the economy. It benefits the user of this new and amazing product, the employees, the government, shareholders in the company, and the broader economy.
I am sorry that this is the slow way to recovery, not the trillion dollar bail out way. Immigrants coming here know this. I just watched a corner store that has been owned by middle easterners for as long as I remember get bought buy some Dominicans. I am so tired of seeing that.
The biggest wealth destroyer is the government, no lie. Its a very complicated system, but wealth has always been created in the above fashion. Even immigrants coming from the most communistic countries recognize this. It took China, what, 30 years of capitalism to increase the standard of living for their people, pollute their rivers, and rob us blind. lmao
My introduction to these things came from a few professors, but later a book called Naked Economics. It is a very good book and politically unbiased, imho. All the confusing pieces fall in place. It's a little above $10 on Amazon right now. You should buy it. Much later I read Milton Friedman's Free to Choose and I left my old liberal idealist self behind.

Like I said I do believe capitalism has its inherent flaws, but no system is perfect. Capitalism is very slow to fix itself, unless it is cheaper to do so. New technologies to stop/slow pollution from factories need to still be created. Technology that replaces cancer causing agents in products is needed. Technology that will create new materials to use in products instead rare and diminishing resources is needed. Nonetheless, it has come long way. The best thing about capitalism is that it creates better, cheaper, easier ways to do things, most of the time without being told.
15?
How bout 11
What job that pays $28/hr is as easy as flipping burgers?
