I get that he’s been in the mix for a very long time, but him being known for telling outlandish stories has become a schtick over the last couple of years, especially on the Pod with Jada. They literally throw flags when he starts with his stories. Music related aside, he recently told the story when he was in school & single handle robbed SEVENTY kids with NO GUN. He then said that some of the kids that he robbed, helped him carry the stuff out lol.
So you never knew a grade school bully, that tormented a bunch of kids at once? Especially back during those times. The "bad" kid usually had a crew of 3-4 following him and harassed a couple of the smaller nerdy kids, and could strong-arm a large group of them while the rest of others watched, and/or jumped on his side. In the 80s and 90s it was common, so I can imagine the 70s were just as crazy. 70 kids in the gym is 2 grade school classes of boys and girls. All he had to do was take a couple of kid's properties then tell others to carry it...a bunch of flunkies and scared kids. Basically, he was The Gooch to the school...or Deebo walking up on 5 dudes on the stoop.
And just like
@Awesome Wells said, he's always told these stories, every chance he got, in every interview - print or radio/TV. I guess people weren't paying attention then, so now it seems outlandish. You can go back 20-30 years and read similar stories from him. As well as people that vouched for the stories. Hell, even Cuban Link vouched for a lot of the stories during the height of their beef. As far as the "flag" and such, they are leaning into it because of the traction it's gaining. At first, it seemed Joe was pissed about it but now he plays along.
But I would doubt any verses exist anymore. They probably cleared whatever they could find in the engineer files. But perhaps some engineer has it. Hell, the OG Last Days just leaked, and Havoc had no clue where it was..meaning someone had it stashed. Besides, whether they recorded songs together, as Un even said Joe could've had songs with Biggie, as Biggie would easily lay verses in studio; but Puff would've nixed it...so no matter what, it was never seeing the light of day.
