Being brought against your will while not legally considered human is not the same as legally being considered human and willingly making an illegal migration. Ironically, when slavery for what became FBA started, the United States was not a country yet.

Because she used other in the exclusionary sense when she said other than she distinguished black people who were brought here from other people who came here which is weird to say logically because no comparison is made between the two groups in the entire statement.

Yea. The confusion comes in because, given the discussion, there was no reason to actually bring up African Americans. The discussion was about illegal immigration. She feels as though her people are being targeted- that’s fair. But how did African Americans come into the discussion?
