Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Interesting. I stopped going out pretty much altogether in 2008. Around that time, it was mostly a white frat boy scene. But it has been 6 years. Things do change.
it still is... i just went there... go there all the time.. it's like 90% white people

now dude is right tho.. hood nikkas still go there and post up, holla at broads, hit heaven and hell.. all that

but it is in NO way like the old days where you had to have the wolves with you to walk end to end

nope... 2012-2013

http://suburbanstats.org/population/how-many-people-live-in-washington-dc

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/11000.html

see it's kinda what trel is talking about... people see all these white people IN the city... the see all these hipsters CLAIM the city... they see all these people ACT like they from the city..

but when you check their ID, them motherfukkers ain't LIVING IN the city

i see the ignorance.. but lets flip it another way

you came up in hoodville right? you been struggling all your life just to get a buck.. you went through some hard times.. you did it all in hoodville.

all the sudden.. here comes these nerdy ass, middle class, had it easy, no struggle type nikkas walking around all the sudden. you know good and well they never lived there a day in their life. and now one of them is famous.. he's representing hoodville. he's doing videos in hoodville. he's claiming hoodville and doing interviews telling people all about hoodville. when people think of hoodville now, they basically see him

that wouldn't irk you a little bit?? like "hold the fukk up. what about me? where's the nikka on tv and radio to represent the "real" nikkas who had to put in blood, sweat and tears just to survive out here? where's our representation?"

that's why i said i don't think he's trying to diss wale.. he never even mentioned the fact that wale ain't from dc.. he never said wale is doing anything wrong. all he said was, "i'm gonna give you the other side of this city, that has zero representation, and that the fans and residents can relate to.. why? cause i fukking live here"
I didn't realize that it had gone back above 50%. Props for posting those links. That's good news.

You don't know what the fukk you talking about

nikkas clearly don't realize how much DC has changed, it's becoming the SF of the east

Yep. For real.

I think he lived in DC years ago and that's what he's basing his posts on. Clearly shiit done changed. Alot. I can drive up to Columbia Heights right now and Im gonna see hipster white girls jogging and walking little poodles but, supposedly that's where all the hood nikkas hang out :dead:

and soon as prodigy got into beef with queens nikkas what happened..

"you not even from here nikka!!! we let you in our hood!!!"

what happened when gucci got in beef "you not even from here nikka!!!"

again.. i'm a grown man.. i'm not about the nonsense of where you claim and how hard you need to look. but it is what it is... when you claim something and you not even from there, it's called false flagging or false claiming

nikkas will let you slide.. but in the back of their minds, they think just like trel

"this nikka out here claiming our shyt and he ain't even from here"

Gucci mane is from Birmingham, Alabama. That's why nikkas said "you not even from here". Because he's from a whole nother state.

I'm talking about those dudes who're from the suburbs/rural parts of Georgia and claiming the city of Atlanta. There's alot. Ludacris, 2 Chains, Young Joc from College Park. Waka Flocka Flame from Riverdale. Rich Homie Quan from Decatur. Its alot of nikkas from Decatur but, I'm not about to search all that shiit. Jeezy from Macon, GA. I know these cities are probably real close to Atlanta but, still, its not the city. How come they give these nikkas passes but, other regions don't.

Philly born. PG raised
You know nova ain't allowing that shyt, at least without fighting it. Pg county is suffering because of certain DC people are bringing the bullshyt to the inner beltway. When you look at the rest of the counties and the outer beltway of pg county, crime isn'treally that bad but closer to DC, it gets worse. It still isn't what it used to be but its there.

Man its starting to move outside the beltway too. My parents left pg and went to Waldorf when I graduated high school. My Lil bro is in H's now and its crazy how bad them schools is out there. Obviously they ain't no dumbars or Anacostia but there are definitely more and more people from dc and pg moving out that way and it's starting to show.

PG will ultimately suffer the worst fate tho.

It's crazy the transition the Georgia ave/Petworth area made in the past 4-5 years. When I started at Howard u wouldn't catch a cac over there. Now they out running and walking they dogs and shyt.

Gentrification is real

who's giving them passes?? other rappers?? hip hop community we see in the media??

i promise you, hit atlanta, hit a real hood in atlanta.. and ask them nikkas how they feel about that shyt.. and i promise you there's a group of them nikkas who been there forever.... talking bout "fukk that nikka jeezy.. he claiming atlanta and that nikka ain't from here. I"M THE REAL ATLANTA nikka"

like i said before... IT'S NOT ANYTHING THAT'S SMART OR MAKES SENSE... but it happens everyday.. and you usually won't know it until the beef starts.. then someone takes the camera to where they say they was from, and starts asking random nikkas the "truth" about said artist... to make them seem like fake ass lying ass nikkas

Maybe DC was wild back during them Rayful years. Today, its too expensive, most the old residents got pushed out the city or over in SE DC.

There's so much money pouring into DC, cranes all over the city, new developments plopping up everywhere. $2 billion waterfront project in SW DC, building a second commercial/downtown area south of the mall, City Center, they restored the Howard Theater, new condo building over the Shaw/Howard metro, new condos on New York ave. Basically the entire north side of DC is safe.....like white people safe :heh: Outside of SE, ain't no hood nikkas here no more. Now in Philly.....where I'm from.....ain't no gentrification happening. Drive 10 blocks away from City Hall and......... :lawdeddie: South Street is Philly's equivalent of U Street and the feeling of general safety is night and day :lawdeddie: Only Baltimore is more fukked up. Thats the most fukked up city I've ever been to. You can smell the hopelessness getting off the freeway :lawdeddie:

nikkas LOVE stories of exaggerated struggles and poverty and addicted to that shyt like cocaine. If I want to hear some crazy, realistic shyt, I go listen to a MC from a third world country.
I grew up poor. Not american poor, where there are food stamps and housing projects. Poverty like not know what s tv was until I was 7, my main meal was a bread and cheese everyday except for sundays, and handling my business outside. And that was good. I dont drink, smoke, gamble, trick, my only vice is food. I make sure theres a million dollars of food in my refrigerator. I will never go hungry again.

thats in any major city in america. Blight and destitution isnt a phenomenon only for northeast american cities. Just more proof the system is broken, well, thats if youre capable of thinking like that

The fact is Wale DID live in DC until he was in middle school. Wale lived in Murder Capital era DC in the early 90's off of Georgia Ave on Peabody. The DC of the last ten years is nothing compared to early 90's DC. :usure:Today, cacs walk up and down Georgia Ave and aren't scared of shyt. Even white people live in Trinidad nowadays. :upsetfavre:

The thing about DC is that hella nikkas there is butthurt that DC never had a hardcore street rapper to tell their stories. DC never had a Nas or Pac. DC's main music movement was always Go-Go. But DC always wanted someone from the streets to put their city on the map like anywhere else. Wale didn't dropout of school in the eighth grade and sell crack to his mother. He moved to Montgomery County at a young age because his family wanted a better life than living in the murder capital of the United States. Can you really blame his parents for that? :yeshrug:

The problem I see with DC being from the Bay is all the hate. Where I'm from in the Bay, we ain't no haters. In the Bay, nikkas in the hood will fukk with you, if you keep it 100. When Pac came to the Bay, nikkas fukked with him. All Pac's real friends (i.e. Spice 1, Rappin' 4Tay, Richie Rich etc.) were from the Bay. It wasn't until Pac started fukking up did nikkas have a problem with him (i.e. the shooting of a little kid in Marin City at festival in 92' that involved Pac's camp). But you never heard nikkas from the Bay screaming "Pac ain't from Oakland!", did you? Same thing with other outta towners like Messy Marv who was adopted by Fillmoe nikkas in Frisco. If it weren't for Mess trying to rep Blood (which nikkas don't bang B's or C's in the Bay), he would still be allowed to claim the Moe and The City despite not living there since his grandparents were born or some shyt. :shaq2: Spice 1 never lived in Oakland, but you never hear Oakland nikkas screaming "Spice ain't from the Town!".

Shooting a video with Cardoza high school in the background isn't violating on some street shyt; thinking like that is being a hater and reaching. :mjpls: Wale is the one of the only national reps for DC, so nikkas should embrace him. And Wale does represent the Uptown swag and mindstate well. I know being in DC every week of the year as a Maryland resident.

My nikka said until middle school, like he was any real danger in elementary, u ain't doing shyt in elementary, he didn't grow in DC so they probably dont feel he really DC like that.

Like alot of nikkaz in new Orleans looked a master P as being from the west coast in the 90s, even tho he grew up in new Orleans, and cash money was the real sound of new Orleans at the time
