Gucci mane is from Birmingham, Alabama. That's why nikkas said "you not even from here". Because he's from a whole nother state.

I'm talking about those dudes who're from the suburbs/rural parts of Georgia and claiming the city of Atlanta. There's alot. Ludacris, 2 Chains, Young Joc from College Park. Waka Flocka Flame from Riverdale. Rich Homie Quan from Decatur. Its alot of nikkas from Decatur but, I'm not about to search all that shiit. Jeezy from Macon, GA. I know these cities are probably real close to Atlanta but, still, its not the city. How come they give these nikkas passes but, other regions don't.

Gucci was born in Alabama but he moved to Atlanta when he was still young. Which means he went through adulthood there, most likely fukked his first bytch there, got his first car there, etc etc. How don't think nikka have the right to rep Atlanta where that's where he grew up and became a man at? I hate hearing shyt like that, that's like saying mj really a new York nikka smh

DC changing. I've met various locals and natives and they all feel the same way bout it but it's inevitable now. I saw a 10 year old white girl riding her bike around Georgia Ave...her bike had the bells and everything :heh: I'm guessing that would've NEVER been the case 10, not even 5 years ago............but yea.........when that MGM Casino open up, my god :whew:

The fact is Wale DID live in DC until he was in middle school. Wale lived in Murder Capital era DC in the early 90's off of Georgia Ave on Peabody. The DC of the last ten years is nothing compared to early 90's DC. :usure:Today, cacs walk up and down Georgia Ave and aren't scared of shyt. Even white people live in Trinidad nowadays. :upsetfavre:

The thing about DC is that hella nikkas there is butthurt that DC never had a hardcore street rapper to tell their stories. DC never had a Nas or Pac. DC's main music movement was always Go-Go. But DC always wanted someone from the streets to put their city on the map like anywhere else. Wale didn't dropout of school in the eighth grade and sell crack to his mother. He moved to Montgomery County at a young age because his family wanted a better life than living in the murder capital of the United States. Can you really blame his parents for that? :yeshrug:

The problem I see with DC being from the Bay is all the hate. Where I'm from in the Bay, we ain't no haters. In the Bay, nikkas in the hood will fukk with you, if you keep it 100. When Pac came to the Bay, nikkas fukked with him. All Pac's real friends (i.e. Spice 1, Rappin' 4Tay, Richie Rich etc.) were from the Bay. It wasn't until Pac started fukking up did nikkas have a problem with him (i.e. the shooting of a little kid in Marin City at festival in 92' that involved Pac's camp). But you never heard nikkas from the Bay screaming "Pac ain't from Oakland!", did you? Same thing with other outta towners like Messy Marv who was adopted by Fillmoe nikkas in Frisco. If it weren't for Mess trying to rep Blood (which nikkas don't bang B's or C's in the Bay), he would still be allowed to claim the Moe and The City despite not living there since his grandparents were born or some shyt. :shaq2: Spice 1 never lived in Oakland, but you never hear Oakland nikkas screaming "Spice ain't from the Town!".

Shooting a video with Cardoza high school in the background isn't violating on some street shyt; thinking like that is being a hater and reaching. :mjpls: Wale is the one of the only national reps for DC, so nikkas should embrace him. And Wale does represent the Uptown swag and mindstate well. I know being in DC every week of the year as a Maryland resident.

That whats funny to me. I asked a nikka the other day what the difference was between uptown and southeast and he was like they're flashier, most have a lil money, parents with good jobs but they get online and act like Wale really misrepresented them, when they know it's cats like him all over the city. It kinda reminds me of Harlem vs Brooklyn. The SE dudes are more thorough, so obviously they'd want someone harder repping their city.

you gotta realize there's a beef between dc, md and va that existed for decades. you ask some of the figures and artists and dj's from area here.. and not just rappers, but people that have been big in the community for years... there has always been that beef... from the hood, to jails, to suburbs

you'll never hear a dc nikka rep dmv

it's mostly md and va cats who say that shyt to sound cooler than, "yea i'm from alexandria" or "yea i'm from crystal city" i mean the next two counties in va are the two richest counties in america.... pg is the richest for blacks in the country

so when you wanna say a something a little cooler you say "i'm from the dmv.. or i'm from PG.. or i'm from the dc area"

dc is on some "nikka i'm from THE CITY... i'm from SE... i'm from DC" they name locations in dc or dc outright and call it a day

now i'm not saying that means you hood cause you from dc... or not hood cause you not from dc... i'm just telling you how nikkas feel out there and how people act around here

but throughout the years, NOBODY has been able to bring together the 3 states and actually make some shyt happen. and nobody from va or md has ever got on, by claiming just va OR md... unless you talking bmore (not considered dmv) or norfolk/richmond (not considered dmv)

this would be like nyc nikkas walking around claiming "tristate area" hell no... that's some shyt connecticut and new jersey nikkas might say

Am I the only one here who's tired of nikkas looking for props for not finishing high school and coming from the "wrong side of town"?

I tried to listen to this dude's music but he just sounds like nothing more than another industry plant. That beginning of the music video he got on MTV Jams of him fukking around with other dudes chicks makes me wanna :russ: before punching him in the face. "Looking for a hood rapper from DC?" Check.

I'm sure Ross will be fine with the tax write off.

Basically the entire north side of DC is safe.....like white people safe :heh: Outside of SE, ain't no hood nikkas here no more. Now in Philly.....where I'm from.....ain't no gentrification happening. Drive 10 blocks away from City Hall and......... :lawdeddie: South Street is Philly's equivalent of U Street and the feeling of general safety is night and day :lawdeddie: Only Baltimore is more fukked up. Thats the most fukked up city I've ever been to. You can smell the hopelessness getting off the freeway :lawdeddie:

:russ: You ain't never lied my nikka. As long as I've lived in PG I never really went around bmore. I remember visiting some ppl at Morgan and just :damn: fukk this shyt. I'm outta here :camby:

Maybe DC was wild back during them Rayful years. Today, its too expensive, most the old residents got pushed out the city or over in SE DC.

There's so much money pouring into DC, cranes all over the city, new developments plopping up everywhere. $2 billion waterfront project in SW DC, building a second commercial/downtown area south of the mall, City Center, they restored the Howard Theater, new condo building over the Shaw/Howard metro, new condos on New York ave. Basically the entire north side of DC is safe.....like white people safe :heh: Outside of SE, ain't no hood nikkas here no more. Ironically, Wale lived in DC as a child when it was the murder cap. :picard: And now nikkas in DC think they tough living next door to the softest cacs of any East Coast city down the street from Whole Foods. :usure:

DC is just a hater city to be honest. :hubie:Why is it that you never hear people from Compton saying Serena ain't really from there or hear people from Brooklyn saying Carmelo Anthony really ain't from there? :jbhmm:

Pac wasn't even from Cali, yet you never hear Cali folks actively trying to disown him. :skip: Pac moved to Cali when he was damn near legally an adult. If anything, the Bay showed Pac the most love even when he was a broke nobody and laced him with straight game. Pac had to leave the Bay over some street shyt, not where he was "from". Same thing with Master P who was born and raised in the N.O. but no one in the Bay tripped when he repped Richmond on wax for hella years.

But the DMV is just full of haters who love to try to tear others down for no damn reason other than to sustain their own fragile egos built on a house of cards. From the rude sarcastic snobby cacs and bougie black people who think their worthless college degree and nonessential government job makes them better than you to the hood nikkas who call anyone a "bama" if you haven't lived every second of your life in the tiny confines of DC east of 13th St and inner beltway PG County. :martin:

Just read thru this a lil bit...

Funny thing, Trel was born in VA and moved to DC like at the age of 7
while Wale was born in murda cap DC and moved to MD (gaithersburg) around the same age as Trel :yeshrug:

nikkas conveniently thru Wale shade cuz he was the first rapper to make it, and him not being street.....some hate hater shyt imo

No other area has done that except for the DMV :snoop:

Slick hating has held the music scene back so much, but outta towners do numbers here:mjcry:

I can't find out what part of D.C. he's from ...it depends..

Wale lived around 13th and Peabody and Trel is from E street.

Rittenhouse, KDY, 13th and Peabody, 640, 5th and O, KDP CHV and 14th and Girard are the only hoods with 30 plus people.
