Lol both my parents and older sibling did this to me. I just grew up, toughened up, and ended up running varsity track, hooping, and playing soccers. It also helped me physically and professionally excel in the Army. When I wanted to play basketball and football outside I got beat up on until I learned enough to be just as good if not better.
As long as he’s actually parenting outside of this I don’t see any problem with this.
My neice finally grew up to the point of me not standing an iota of a chance of beating her in a race. She still the most humble yet confidant, outgoing kid I know. She isn’t interested in anything but science and long distance running.
When my daughter is old enough for a fisher price basketball goal she’s getting the 97’ Iverson vs Jordan crossover and getting dunked on if she tries to stop me at the rim.
