Cardi has a deep donkey voice and poor voice control.. but this generation doesn't know what talent is.

As long as she not listening to it around me

And as soon as I see/hear any of that chicks mannerisms in that child I would beat the brakes off her

Glad I don’t have kids in this era tbh. nikkas these days love the broken home cycle they’re in.

True, but I'd try my best or at least teach her the errors of Thotdom.
In one ear and out the other. All that will do is ensure that she doesn't listen to it near you, but she goes overboard in your absence.

It's been a while since I was in that middle school/highschool era , But I recall it was the girls that had the strict fathers who kept a separate iPod (this tells you my age :pachaha: ) at school , along with a thotty change of clothes in the lockers. They we're having whole secret lives away from their daddies.

It's something about emphasizing that you don't want them to do something that makes them go at it harder.

lol they fooled your ass
Nah .
I know what they like. We are super close

I take them to concerts they like . I see their spotify list . They hate rap.

If they did like it ,they could listen to it . I just wouldnt personally like it.

Ive never tripped about cussing been taking them to see rated r horror movies since they were 6 .
I personally love rap and have always listened to it in front of them ..

What music could your parents stop you from listening to at 13-15? My parents wouldn’t let me listen to rap or “evil” rock yet I still did. Outside the house, at school, when they weren’t home, late at night.

I wouldn’t let my kids listen to non-edited stuff in my presence but I’d understand they’d find it when I’m not around. That’s just the reality of kids lol.

You can discourage or disallow it in your presence, but they're gonna listen to what they listen to on their own time or with friends. You'll never escape hip hop being the dominant party music in the US.

You just have to build the foundation so they don't take none of that shyt serious.

I'll say this, if hip hop is the first and dominant genre of music your daughter is ever exposed to then :francis: Good luck.

Around that age, they should be able to listen to anything tbh. As long as you taught them good values and stuff till that point then they should be able to navigate accordingly to your teachings.

I was a straight A student at that age but was listening to straight street music, but I never thought to myself I wanted to be a street dude.

We at least had the sense to not to play certain things in the car cd player with the folks because that would alert them and create issues..the kids today arent too bright and just do what they want without and consideration for other people or repercussions.

Everytime I see some Facebook status video, whatsapp or tiktok they young ladies are playing Cardi as the background music.

The problem is not letting them listen to certain things, the problem is not making them listen to other shyt to balance things out. There’s no way I can listen to Cardi B or Lil Kim type music and that’s all I listen to… same as like NWA and shyt. I never took it seriously and I’m glad I never did, it was always just music to me. Y’all parents of these 15 year olds better let them hear HER., Cleo Sol, and whatever good r&b yo can counter with this Cardi shyt. It’s amazing how we have damn near all the music ever made in our pockets but somehow the people who had to rely on radio, rap city, and other BET and MTV shows to tell us what was hot somehow knew how to balance our music listening habits.
