Will Mexican Chicagoans join us and tell officials that the migrants shouldn't be in the area?
In the article I linked it is mentioned that activists in law dale attempted to work with Latino organizations in the area but were snubbed by local officials. The article even speaks about a local resident - apparently Latino - that stands with the predominantly black community.

I am Shoryuken, buddy :mjlol:

I’m for reparations. Black Americans have endured centuries of humiliation and oppression. It is this racial hatred that is buried deep in the heart of the American condition. It is that colonial mindset that enabled the atrocities committed on behalf of expansionism and slavery.

But I wonder how many black Americans would agree with the land back movement? :jbhmm:

@IllmaticDelta I'm sure you have examples of Black Americans advocating on behalf of Native Americans for Civil Rights.

Ironically the small cac towns in places like Idaho and Wyoming need an infusion of immigrants to sustain themselves because the old cacs are dying off and the young cacs are moving to big cities.

But we all know that those cacs don't want these folks there.
I don’t understand how all refugees and illegal immigrants are sent to these states that need population and industry built.

Why has American refused to develop these areas.

I recommend this book for people who know something has been going on and want to know more context about how we are being pit against others and them against us:

Saw this book recommended in other areas there was Black vs PoC discourse many times

The book slightly softens the by-choice strategy white, white aspirant, white adjacent, and white-mixed "latinos" used. There was no "pit against". Mexicans leaders chose white. Black people are already low status citizens in Mexico.

The nation of Mexico chose at the very least not to be black.

What advantages do they get from associating with black people in the United States they don't get in their own country. Critical question.

The Mexican government has officially recognized the significant influence of African culture on the national identity, alongside European and indigenous peoples, since 1992. In 2019 this was officially adopted into the Mexican constitution itself. Furthermore, in a historic move, they added Afro-Mexican identification to the census for the first time. It may not seem much but I think they are making tremendous strides considering those of African descent constitute only 1-5% of the overall population.

As for the latter part of your post, you could substitute any other ethnic group and the answer would still be nebulous.

I don’t understand what y’all would want on this front: assimilation or segregation?

Idk. I would think the smart ones would take it on an individual basis, but I’m sure there are certain cultural differences that would be difficult to reconcile. I mean, some even have issues with the variations of Spanish found in every country.

That said, I’ve never had any issues. Except for this lady clerk at the corner store that may be Puerto Rican or something and she’s hella rude. My moms neighbor is Cuban but he’s a cop so it’s fukk him off general principle.
