after a certain point. with this many people having defrauded them, you gotta start blaming them for making it so easy to defraud.

That is still on them 100 percent. I really do not see this as entrapment since the terms of getting the loan was clear. That would be like someone never thinking about stealing a car, but seeing a car with the door open and the keys in the ignition compelled them to get in and drive away. When they get arrested and found that it is a bait car, they can not claim entrapment.

MIght not be considered entrapment legally (yet, hopefully one day. just because it's the law doesn't make it right)
but it doesn't change the fact that instead of catching criminals they are simply creating criminals. I wonder how many of these people are first time offenders vs serial scam artists?

bait cars are absolutely entrapment imo law be damned. I bet if i started doing that in white neighborhoods, filming people and reporting my vehicle stolen, politicians would switch up on that tactic quick

I am sorry but unless you are mentally handicapped you should know what is right and wrong. In this case you should know theft is wrong. What if it was not a bait car, but someone running into a store and leaving their keys in the ignition and someone taking the car. Would you defend the person that stole the car because the owner should not of left their keys in the ignition?

At some point personal responsibility needs to be kick in and govern choices. These people who scammed the program are not victims of government entrapment. Even the people that were approached by others to do it should of had better judgement when it came to this.
