Congress needs to act, today. Again, while there are folks in congress who were speaking out against this, it wasn't enough. The Democrats should be making a very loud chorus about that. So many issues to get out in front of and take center stage on. Maybe its just hard because it relies on media attention and unless its a sexy story, its hard to get on stage.

What power grab? By the ISPs?
yeah...?

By the way, Netflix and hulu would probably be fine. They can afford to just pay ISPs directly though it may result in price increases for consumers on those platforms

Sites that will be hurt most by this are sites like...TheColi.com. Maybe not Thecoli directly but sites of this size and sites that aren't billion dollar operations.

Yep and this is why corporate media is shyt.

But now that I think about it, I don't know if blaming the media is an excuse anymore. The internet is out there and if harnessed correctly, you can make stuff go viral easily. Its just that we have all these old toads in government who are probably used to how media usually operates before the explosion of social media and the internet in general and do not know how to use it effectively to get out there. This was evident during the election I think where it seems like the Right in this country have figured out how to use the internet effectively to get a collective message out. The left, is falling behind.

I'm just spit balling, but one idea is that every sitting senator and house member of the Democratic party (by the way this is assuming that this isn't negligence because they are corporate stooges) can record a video for youtube, facebook, and twitter saying how they are going to fight this, and at the same time construct legislation to fix this issue. That is just one idea off the top of my head. Trust it would get picked up by every political blog and several websites quickly and spread. It would build momentum.

The fear of having to paying higher prices for certain commonalities within the Internet should be sexy enough.

Media controls the information available to people...

Most people wouldn't know shyt about this let alone what the FCC is without having the media telling them what's going on...

People are sheep
