Could be that taste of freedom leaves chicks (and dudes) reluctant to fall back into previous roles. That’s the danger with choice s. Once you have them, everything becomes an option rather than an obligation. In the old days my elders told me they used to not let younger women go into the birthing rooms because it would possibly scare them away from having babies. A lot of women’s biggest fears revolve around that whole barefoot and pregnant paradigm. Being progressive just means these women’s choices are held as valid whether they fix the national problem or not. It doesn’t present itself as a solution to the issue necessarily. However those policies can make the climate better for people to imagine creating families which, in turn, could help birth rates.
Honestly, I don’t think there is a magic bullet that can fix this issue overnight. Generationally, there is a lot of distrust that has to be resolved. People don’t trust the government, women don’t trust society, men don’t trust society to be supportive of the traditions they’ve tried to push off on us.

I’m kinda proud because they are telling the world that the status quo is unsustainable. When the people at the top can’t get their privileges because the bottom of the pyramid won’t participate-that’s when tables start shaking.

Aren't the French also having population issues?The French and countries like Finland have a very common sense approach that works.
They can address this with the following options:
1. Subsidies for first time home buyers. If you're trying to buy a 2-3 bedroom home, 35% of the cost is absorbed by govt if your income is at or below the average wage.
2. A MINIMUM of 3-5 weeks annual paid vacation for all employees by law(like Australia)
3. A MINIMUM of 12 months paid paternal leave(like in Bulgaria)
4. Free post secondary education(like in Germany)
5. Relax immigration laws to allow skilled workers in. If they pass language fluency tests and can pass tests showing mastery of their skill, they're given a form of citizenship.
Other countries with even lower GDPs can do this. The only thing preventing this is greed. Employers would have company towns and neighborhoods and pay you in scrip if they could again.

Ethical government and the fury of the public is the only thing that prevents us from going back to those days. Smart government policies that have been proven to work are the best way to grow your population.
