If this administration can just cut nuclear safety experts and air traffic controllers on a whim I don't think they'll give a fukk about any other 'essential' employee.
idgaf either, just pointing out the irony. not sure how much "hardship" the public wants to endure
cause these tax returns ain't gonna process themselves
i'm 100% telework anyway, and that ain't changing unless the law gets changed

Its in the reconciliation bill. It's on hold for now because they want more cuts. But it'll pass imo.

I got 24 years in. Raising the contribution rate to 4.4% is a 3.6% pay cut every year for the rest of my career. I didn’t plan on retiring until 62. I'm 47.
I was planning to go at 57. No supplemental means 62. fukk. Hope the next administration adds it back in.if they raise the contribution does that increase our retirement?

No. Retirement stays the same. We're just paying more into it.

I thought about leaving at 57 then taking a contractor job. Having two checks coming those 5 years. But leaving at 62 and getting the 1.1% is like 10% raise every year for the rest of my life.

Still, I would like to have the option. Doesn’t it look like that's gonna be available anymore. Nothing has actually passed yet, but it's not looking good.
