I love Bob Marley, but this guy is the true revolutionary of black music, he could have been much bigger than he is if he conformed, things like not even accepting the plea to make his songs shorter in length shows you how truly headstrong this man was, legend.

They wouldn't of sounded as good if they were shortened. This shyt is like African opera or something. Fela too genius to be takin orders from cacs.

I finally gathered all the albums of Fela (around 54 albums) :blessed::wow: Fela was simply a genius. It's really sad that what he said in the 70s-80s, remains true today in Africa. Same corrupted governments, soldiers oppressing people, etc..
@Budda I get what you say when you are talking about shortening songs, but that's what makes Fela music so special, he has his own style. An instrumental part where you pay attention to the music, then another for lyrics, all that with rhythm changes. It might be because I was raised in Africa and in my home country, music is the same way, a long part without words and people just dance.

Regarding my favorite tracks, I don't know, so many.
I will just give tracks not cited in the thread: Unknown soldier (really deep), Roforofo fight, Shuffering and Shmiling, Johnny Just Drop, Gentleman
