I hear you, and my way of thinking is it should’ve never came to this, bc if it was me I wouldn’t have let it. I’ve gone on numerous trips and one person has booked and it’s never been an issue.This ain't enough to fall out with homie for, imo. I get where he's coming from: You made an agreement separately with the deadbeat dude.
You may have met him through your bro, but the agreement y'all brokered was separate from the agreement you made with your bro.
I'll put it to you like this. You made an agreement with your bro. That's one agreement.

I totally get why he doesn't want to get involved. You need to step to the other guy like a man, and tell him he gotta give you your money back and get that straight.
Only thing your bro can really do in this situation is to be like, "come on, dude..." to the friend.

Everybody involved in this situation is a grown man, and none of you are responsible for the actions of the other one.
As far as the analogy about having your friend in your aunt's house, and him stealing something, and your aunt holding you responsible... that's a false equivalency.
A better analogy would be you invite your friend over to your aunt's house, your aunt tells your friend to come back the next day for dinner, but she wants him to bring a glass of wine and she wants you to bring a glass of wine.
You bring your glass of wine but your friend doesn't bring his.
Your aunt is not going to hold you responsible in that situation. She's going to hold him responsible.

second, when money is concerned, i try to do my own thing. i dont like to involve others in my business and i do this for one simple reason. I"m the most responsible person I know. I dont do reckless sh1t and i dont need alot of excitement in my life. Most people are not like this. So when it comes to money, u do u, and please stop asking me to get involved in ur sh1t.. The answer will always be no. You must adopt the mentality.
