Fighting games are the biggest rip off ever. since fukking SNES their the same shyt and havent evlolved one bit. Think about it Mortal Kombat on SNES had like 10 characters and maybe 12 maps. Fast forward 20 years later to today, we get MKX with what maybe 15 characters? and another 12 maps. Test your strength which was also in snes. whats the difference we get 3 fighting styles WOW. thats the biggest improvement they could think of?

first off the maps you fight in are smaller than my bathroom. plus they have like 0 interactivity. mkx doesnt even let you knock nikkas out the cliff.

Second all you do is fight. kick punch kick punch power ball then fatality. ok cool but GTA lets you do all this shyt + a million other things.

Third. Why so little characters? we should be getting HUNDRED of characters. gran turismo 3 on playstation 2 had like 500 cars. cars are harder to design then guys. so whats the excuse.

fourth. Pay 30$ more for extra 5 characters?????????????? ARE U INSANE????????????? these characters been revealed weeks maybe months before the game came out meaning they are already designed and can easly put them n the fukking game

fifth. so little content. tekken tag tournament had teeken bowling. this was on fukking ps2. Wheres MORTAL KOMBAT BASKETBALL?? or something fun like that. bowling was hella fun. and i hate bowling.

sixth. More skins. Why do these guys fight n the same clothes over and over. dirty as shyt. they usually give us 2 skins. like theyve been doing since playstation 1 so if we pick same characters we can tell the difference. but this is 2015. year of the fly nggas. our characters should have atleast 5 different clothes

In conclusion. rip off. how can you justify buying fighting games smh
i think y'all are missing his point

the problem is how FAR they've come in all these years

the latest street fighter, ain't TOO much different than street fighter 2.... most of the same characters, even the button presses are the same... the graphics improve but every genre does... and they added some super super supers and shyt

but really... what's the NEW feature in fighting games??

take a look at boxing games on snes, then look at ufc or the last fight night

look at the first gta on computer and look at 5

look at f-zero then look at driveclub

look at zelda then look at skyrim

things were added... gameplay elements... and in 20 damn years we getting the same features and games... just new looks and characters..

i'd love to see a truly NEW fighting game

The reason why SF4 was so successful was because it was so similar to Street Fighter 2.

Its like Final Fantasy. It was dope on NES and dope on PS2 cause it was all similar just better graphics.

You on and off on some points. DLC thing is def. true but that's this whole fukkk ass gaming industry in general. I tend to hate fighting games, find them all overrated, that turn eventually into a cheese ,corner juggling , spam fest with only 5 or so good characters on a roster. I do think they have longevity tho for good players. It's like when I play NBA 2k the competitive nature of playing different kinds of people and strategies can last a very long time. Also huge maps and 100 man roster is not feasible. Yeah the rosters and map selection can be bigger, but too many characters are going to create very sh1tty unusable characters and more room for broken mechanics and exploits. Plus large maps can't exist in the frame of winning a fight in 90 seconds.

It would be cool if there was no time limit and all maps where interconnected, so you could start on any board and technically finish on any other map depending on traversals through the area.

You have convoluted his point with the F-Zero and Driveclub comparison. Sure they are both driving games but one is super arcadey fantasy and the other is more of a sim. Zelda and Skyrim are not the same type of game, in fact Zelda is one series that just makes minor tweaks to the same formula. Using the same type of comparison i could say look at SF2 and look at EA Sports UFC, both are fighting games but they are just as different as F-Zero and Driveclub.

Some types of games dont need to reinvent the wheel to be fun. People still enjoy racing sim games and there isnt much you can do to change that formula. Its just extra cards and tracks at this point. What else can you do the MLB The Show? At the end of the day its still baseball and we been playing a pretty solid version of the game since World Series Baseball on the Genesis.

It sounds like 2D fighting games just arent his cup of tea anymore. There is no way anyone who played MK9 can say that game lacked content. In MKX you have 25 characters with 3 variations, essentially 75 characters. 75 matchups alone is more than enough to keep someone occupied if they like the genre.

@dBoyFresh*212, I was at work so I couldn't properly call out your bullshyt.

Fighting games are the biggest rip off ever. since fukking SNES their the same shyt and havent evlolved one bit. Think about it Mortal Kombat on SNES had like 10 characters and maybe 12 maps. Mortal Kombat on SNES had a good chunk of the fatalities removed from the game as well as the main appeal of the series--the gore and violence. Genesis was obviously the better version of the game, but of course you would know that if you PLAYED fighting games.

MKX has 25 characters, 3 variations each with different specials, normals, move properties and of course each character has 2 fatalities to their own. Factions, Team Battle, Story Mode, Krypt, Challenge Towers ( which INCLUDES Test Your Strength), Test Your Luck are all back in MKX. MKX has way more content than even MK Armageddon up to this point.

Again, you would know that if you played fighting games.

first off the maps you fight in are smaller than my bathroom. plus they have like 0 interactivity. mkx doesnt even let you knock nikkas out the cliff.

No one cares about Stage Size in 2D fighting games you fukking idiot :pachaha: Interactables are in the stages if 'interactivity' bothers you THAT much. But you would know that...if you played fighting games.

Second all you do is fight. kick punch kick punch power ball then fatality. ok cool but GTA lets you do all this shyt + a million other things.

Compare open world shooters to fighting games brehs

Third. Why so little characters? we should be getting HUNDRED of characters. gran turismo 3 on playstation 2 had like 500 cars. cars are harder to design then guys. so whats the excuse.

This is a lie.

Back when Skullgirls was.... :pachaha: relevant, Lab Zero actually put out a chart of the typical cost of a fighting game character. It takes $150K to make a single character. Now, dBoy you're a smar--....:pachaha: adult, I'm sure you can deduct some costs there to see that game development for racing games are actually cheaper than fighting games, and make their money back MUCH faster than fighting games because casuals don't play fighting games. Like you!

fourth. Pay 30$ more for extra 5 characters?????????????? ARE U INSANE????????????? these characters been revealed weeks maybe months before the game came out meaning they are already designed and can easly put them n the fukking game

Motion Capture has just started for the DLC characters not even a week after the game went gold. Tanya in MKX's story mode is using different moves from diferent characters. Use google. :Pachaha:

In regards to cost consider what you're actually GETTING in the Kombat Pack.

04/26 – MASKDMURDER Pack- Jason
05/10 – Klassic Pack #1- Tremor
05/24 – HUNTERPREY Pack- Predator
06/07 – Klassic Pack #2- Tanya

Skin Packs:
 • Samurai Pack (includes Samurai Shinnok, Ronin Kenshi, and Jingu Kitana)
 • Ultimate Horror Pack (includes Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile, and Pharaoh Ermac)
 • Klassic Pack #1 (includes Klassic Sonya, Klassic Liu Kang, and Klassic Kano)
 • Predator and Prey Pack (includes Infared Scorpion, Commando Johnny, and Carl Weathers as Dillon)
 • Klassic Pack #2 (includes Klassic Jax, Klassic Kung Lao, and Klassic Quan Chi)
 • Pre order the game to get Goro. Available for purchase day one( price unknown).
4 characters for $30, and a bunch of costumes. Not to mention you don't HAVE to pay for the characters immediately, you can try them before you buy. DLC has been notoriously cheap for fighting games in comparison to other genres (unless you're Arc. System Works.) You would know that.

If you knew fighting games, I mean.

fifth. so little content. tekken tag tournament had teeken bowling. this was on fukking ps2. Wheres MORTAL KOMBAT BASKETBALL?? or something fun like that. bowling was hella fun. and i hate bowling.

Play fighting games for anything else instead of fighting games, brehs.

sixth. More skins. Why do these guys fight n the same clothes over and over. dirty as shyt. they usually give us 2 skins. like theyve been doing since playstation 1 so if we pick same characters we can tell the difference. but this is 2015. year of the fly nggas. our characters should have atleast 5 different clothes

Care about customization in a fighting game, brehs.

I feel like I lost brain cells just going through how fukking flawed your argument is.
Ask for more pointless filler in a fighting game because your dumb ass is too stupid to play the fighting game for its intended purpose; mastering the mechanics.

You don't play fighting games.
Thats the bottom line ONLY RPGS come close to the replay value of a fighting game you can spend YEARS mastering a character and if the community is strong that can extend the games life even longer.

Sorry OP you have to get negged just for going full retard on this one:ufdup:

fukk OUT OF HERE with this fukking nonsense. If you legitimately believe that Street Fighter 2 is anything similar to Street Fighter 4 or are making the implication that fighting games DON'T EVOLVE in their core mechanics, gameplay, metagame, neutral game, how cross-ups and mixups work, how health management, spacing/zoning, how rushdown characters benefit from the new mechanics, how the Ultra system/FADC system works then, well...you don't put enough time into fighting games to know that these games are night and day. I'm absolutely baffled. Wow. Casual nikkas not even capable of playing fighting games properly wanna come and dictate how what WE'VE been doing for fukking years.

You don't want evolution in the genre. You want a different genre to play.

Go play character action games and complain how THAT genre isn't doing anything new.
